A motion was made by Commissioner Hirsch, seconded by Commissioner Donly that
•; all bids be closed for the collection of garbage and trash. The motion passed
unanimously.
Public Hearings:
a) City Attorney Adler read the title of an ordinance pertaining to Social
Security for part-time employees.
A motion was made by Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Hirsch to
jr pass this ordinance on second reading.
The motion passed on the following roll call vote:
Commissioner Bertino - yes
Commissioner Cook - yes Commissioner Hirsch - yes
Commissioner Donly yes Mayor Adams - yes

b) City Attorney Adler read the title of an ordinance amending Ordinance No.
109 pertaining to the charges for garbage and trash pickup.
A motion was made by Commissioner Bertino, seconded by Commissioner Donly
to adopt this ordinance on first reading.
The motion passed on the following roll call vote:
Commissioner Bertino - yes
Commissioner Cook - yes Commissioner Hirsch .- yes
Commissioner Donly yes
Mayor Adams - yes

c) First reading of ordinance amending Ordinance No. 230 pertaining to parking,
trucks, boats, motor homes and truck routes in the City of Dania.
A motion was made by Commissioner Hirsch, seconded by Commissioner Bertino
to table this item until the next meeting of April 8, 1980, and that a board
Of citizens be appointed to a committee to discuss this ordinance.
The motion passed on the following roll call vote:
Commissioner Bertino - yes
Commissioner Cook - yes Commissioner Hirsch - yes
Commissioner Donly - no Mayor Adams - yes
2. A motion was made by Commissioner Bertino, seconded by Commissioner Cook to open
the bids for garbage and trash collection to be read into the record. The motion
Passed unanimously.

City Manager Marant opened the bids and read them aloud as follows:
Seacoast Sanitation - $10,300.00 All Service Refuse - $14,650
Westshore Sanitation - $14,247. 50 Browning, Ferris Ind. - $20,160
Abbey Sanitation - $12,500.00 Waste Management - $13,495

;* A motion was made by Commissioner Bertino, seconded by Commissioner Cook to
refer the bids to the City Manager, City Attorney and City Clerk for tabula- # u
tion and recommendation to the City Commission on April 8, 1980. The motion
}_ passed unanimously.
3. Financial report by Joseph Spina, City Auditor. -x
Mr. Spina reported to the Commission that the -audit has been prepared but due
to the pending outcome of the Ves case, he was not prepared to turn the audit
over to the City as yet.
A motion was made by Commissioner Bertino, seconded by Commissioner Donly
that we direct Mr. Spina to give us an audit and if he wants to put a disclaimer u
in, that is his discretion. The motion passed with Commissioner Cook voting
no.
4. Report by John Farina, City Engineer, on Sanitary Sewer Rehab Program.
A motion was made by Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Bertino to
table this item until the next meeting of April 8, 1980, upon Mr. Farina's
V request. The motion passed with Commissioner Hirsch voting no.
R. 5. Report by Paul Maxwell , Building Official , on the City's Land Use Plan,
seeking recommendation from the Commission on the amendments made by the
Broward County Plarniug Council .
A motion was made by Commissioner Donly, seconded by Commissioner Hirsch
that the City stay consistent with its recommendation for industrial for
the Florida Silica Sand property (Amendment 19-L). The motion passed
unanimously.
A motion was made by Commissioner Donly, seconded by Commissioner Hirsch
that the City remain consistent with its recommendation of LM-10 for the
Lakeside Travel Park property and re'ect the Planning Council 's recommen-
dation of commercial (Amendment 19-M�. The motion passed unanimously.
6. Commissioner Hirsch made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Bertino to adopt
a resolution supporting continuation of Federal Revenue Sharing Program to
be sent to Congressman Stack, Senator Lawton Chiles and Senator Richard Stone.
The motion passed unanimously.
7. A motion was made by Commissioner Hirsch, seconded by Commissioner Donly to
declare one 1975 Malibu Chevy, ID No. 1C29H5D452378, surplus. The motion
passed unanimously.
8. Citizens' comments:
Skeet Jernigan complained about violations to the sign ordinance and that the
ordinance is not being enforced.
Mildred Bryant of 136 NW 5 Avenue commented on the tabling of the truck ordi-
nance. Mrs. Bryant volunteered to be on the committee to discuss this ordi-
nance.
Mildred Jones commented on the truck ordinance, the sewer hookups on the west-
side and the clearing of lots on the westside.
J. Lucille West of 621 NW 3 Terrace, volunteered to be on the committee to
discuss the truck ordinance.
Dominic Marino of 218 SE 4 Street, commented to Commissioner Hirsch on the
tabling of the truck ordinance.
Bill Brook objected to citizens' comments being at the end of the agenda.

Commission Comments:
Mayor Adams read a proclamation proclaiming the week of April 12 through April
19, 1980, as Keep Our Waterway Clean Week.
Commissioner Cook asked for a formal written opinion from the City Attorney as
Ifto whether the City Manager can hold an elective office in another City and be
our City Manager.
The meeting adjourned.
