Acceptance of bids on water main replacement and resurfacing of alley serving SW 14 Street and SW 15 Street and alley serving SE 3 Street and SE 3 Terrace. A motion was made by Commissioner Bertino, seconded by Commissioner Donly for the time of bidding to be closed and for the City Manager to open and tabulate the bids. The motion passed unanimously. Acting City Manager Jewell opened the bids and read them aloud as follows : Webb Contracting $36,498. 00 Broward Construction 48,538. 90 A motion was made by Commissioner Bertino, seconded by Commissioner Cook to turn these bids over to the City Manager for tabulation and recommendation on March 12 , 1980. The motion passed unanimously. 2. A motion was made by Commissioner Bertino, seconded by Commissioner Cook to continue the Public Hearings and the remainder of the meet- ing until March 12, 1980, at 8 p.m. The motion passed unanimously. Public Hearings: ® a) Second reading of ordinance approving the Plat of Sea Aire #1. b) Second reading of ordinance pertaining to social security for part-time employees. c) Variance request by Robert D. Smith for the property located 0 at 213 SW 11 Street, to allow an existing four-unit apartment in an RD-6000 (duplex) zone. EXHIBIT: Notice of Hearing (PZ-7-80) d) Request is made by Frank Mirrer for the property located at 1496 South Dixie Highway for a variance to allow the construc- tion of a commercial structure with insufficient setbacks and to waive the required platting procedure and for a special exception to allow an enclosed vehicle repair establishment. EXHIBIT: Notice of Hearing (PZ-9-80) e) Request is made by Robert S. Whitmire for the property located approximately 1/4 mile west of FEC Railroad on Griffin Road, known as Griffin Commercial Plat , to vacate a utility easement in order to utilize subject property. EXHIBIT : Notice of Hearing (PZ-10-80) f) Variance request by Howard E Janet Germaine for the property located at 314 SE 4 Terrace, to allow the construction of a screen enclosure with insufficient setbacks in an RS-6000 (single family) zone. EXHIBIT: Notice of Hearing (PZ-11-80) g) Variance request by Neil P. Couture for the property located d at 43 SW 7 Street , to allow an existing garage to be used as a second living unit in an RD-6000 zone. EXHIBIT: Notice of Hearing (PZ-12-80) 2 . Appointment of members to the Unsafe Structures Board. 3. Consideration and possible action on request to write-off returned checks for parking fines. EXHIBIT: Memorandum from City Clerk 4 . Possible adoption of resolution supporting House Bill 212 to obtain exemption for Cities from having to pay sales tax on materials for public construction. EXHIBIT: Letter from Florida House of Representatives 5 . Request to determine items on attached Inter-Office Memorandum surplus. EXHIBIT: Memorandum from Chief Mechanic 6 .
