Lassiter, Sr. City Clerk: Wanda Mullikin Absent: Commissioner: Jean Cbok Commissioner: Howard Hirsch City Attorney: Frank Adler A motion was made by Commissioner Donly, seconded by Commissioner Adams to excuse Commissioner Hirsch and City Attorney Adler from this meeting. The motion passed unanimously. 1. Jeff Gross was present to submit to the Commission his recommendation for awarding of the bid to Carpet Systems for carpeting of the new city hall . A motion was made by Commissioner Donly, seconded by Commissioner Adams to award the bid to Carpet Systems for carpeting of the new city hall at the price of $4,260.00 providing that Carpet Systems provides three colors. The motion passed unanimously. A motion was made by Commissioner Donly, seconded by Commissioner Adams to ajourn this meeting. The motion passed unanimously. ZG Mayor- Commissioner City Clerk- Auditor Special Meeting -1- March 30, 1978 P R o C L A 14 A T I o N WHEREAS, the State of Israel , In answer to the prayers of Jews the world over and especially In response to the yearnings of almost six million American Jews, came into existence in 1948; and WHEREAS, the creation of the State of Israel came after two millenia of dispersion and persecution; and WHEREAS, since its creation it has had to defend itself in four wars and is now engaged in a live or die situation; and WHEREAS, despite all adversity and aggression, the State of Israel has survived and has now reached its 30th Anniversary year; NOW THEREFORE, 1 , John Bertino, Mayor of the City of Dania in accordance with a resolution adopted by the B'nai B'rith Lodges and Chapters of North Broward, Palm Beach areas, do hereby proclaim the month of May as STATE OF ISRAEL MONTH, and do call upon the citizens of this City to Join me in expressing congratulations, support and best wishes for the continued growth, success and accomplishments of the State of Israel which Is a vital and viable member of the family of nations, and further to Join me in wishing the State of Israel peace and long life. The nation's 16,460 state trial and appellate courts and 105 federal courts today are handling more cases than at any other time in their history. In the past few decades many new frontiers have been opened in the field of law. New laws have been written and existing ones expanded to meet the challenges of the times. On the occasion of the 21st annual nationwide observance of LAW DAY U.S.A. on May I , 1978, it is fitting that we, as citizens of this City, State and Nation, pause to reflect on our heritage of equal access to our courts and equal protection of the laws. The theme selected in recognition of LAW DAY is: The Law: Your Access to Justice NOW, THEREFORE, I , John Bertino, Mayor of the City of Dania do hereby proclaim Monday, May I, 1978, as LAW DAY U.S.A. in Dania and urge the people, organizations, churches, schools and the media of public information to join in the observance of LAW DAY and to take part in community programs sponsored by State and local bar associations.
