SPECIAL MEETING
DANIA CITY COMMISSION
MAY 3, 1977
Roll Call
Present:
Mayor: John Bertino
Vice Mayor: James Adams
Commissioners : Jean Cook
Robert Donly
Howard Hirsch
City Manager: John S . Lassiter, Sr.
City Attorney: Frank Adler
City Clerk: Wanda Mullikin
1. A motion was made by Commissioner Donly, seconded by Commissioner
Adams to close the bidding and open the bids received on the gates
for Dania Beach. The motion was carried by all.
City Manager Lassiter read the following bids:
Carribean Parking & Security System, Inc. $5,402.00
(including delivery
of two weeks)
Cincinnati Time Recorder $5,075.00
A motion was made by Commissioner Donly, seconded by Commissioner
Hirsch to have City Manager Lassiter contact both bidders to confirm
delivery date and then bring it before the Commission at the Special.
Meeting of May 4 , 1977 for discussion and possible action. The
motion was carried by all.
2 . Mr . Tom Halloway, Southern Bell, was present to discuss new tele-
phore system being considered for the new City Hall.
After discussion a motion was made by Commissioner Adams , seconded
by Commissioner Donly to go with the Dimension PBX System with
the one tine Payment plan at $40 ,651.00 or less. The motion was
carried by all.
3 . Gloria Daly representing The Dania Business Society asked that
discussion of the Trafficways Plan regarding one-way pairing be
postponed. She asked that another day be granted them to compile

their information and then appear before the Commission to present a
their findings .

A motion was made by Commissioner Adams , seconded by Commissioner
Donly to call a Special Meeting for the Trafficways Plan at 7 :00
p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 1977 . The motion was carried by all.
{} 4 . A motion was made by Commissioner Donly, seconded by Commissioner
Cook to close the bidding on the surplus tractor and open the
^j bids received.
;) City Manager Lassiter read the following bid:
C. E. McElyea , Mac 's Towing $937 .00
A motion was made by Commissioner Donly, seconded by Commissioner
Cook to accept the bid submitted by C. E. McElyea. The motion
was carried by all.

5 . City Attorney Adler was instructed by the Commission to prepare
a resolution to amend the Beach Parking Ordinance to read 'emount
including sales tax.,'
6 . Mr . James Stephens , Social Service Director, requested approval of
the City commission to lease space from Mr. Steve Casper to set up
the program funded by the Department of Community Affairs.
After discussion, the commission agreed that there was ample
city space available. Mr. Stephens was instructed to confer with
City Manager Lassiter as to which city facility they could use.
Comments
City Manager Lassiter questioned the meaning of the billing
period stated in the new sewer rate ordinance.
After disucssion, the ordinance was explained to mean the city
would start their billing of the new rates after the May & June
billing period.
Mr . Dick Marant, Assistant City Manager, informed the Commission
of Mr. Sam Moschella 's dissatisfaction with the way the city is
handling the de-annexation of his property.
