John Kay r5{u City Manager: John Lassiter 11 'gjpp. Colonel Wilson , Administrator of the Broward County Planning Council introduced his staff: Harry Miller, Planning Director; 4 Peggy Volke , Chief Planner; Mark Stein, Chief Planner. They L were there to present the Commission with a proposal. The City has to come up with nine separate elements for the comprehensive plan, which includes the land-use element. The Planning Council has offered the City their staff to work on the City Is Land Use �. Plan with the City officials. The period it would cover would y be over 18 months . There are essentially two parts to the plan- ing study. One has to do with developing the land-use plan; u -4i housing, transportation, open-space E utilities elements; the second part has to do with the economic feasibility of the plan. The first part would be handled by the Council, except for the housing element and the economic feasibility would be handled by the Consultant. The staff would consist of a project manager and staff assistant, transportation, editorial 6 engineering staff members. Total cost over a three year period would be $49 ,029 . The breakdown being: $39, 573 staff costs ; $350 computer costs ; $3 ,040 material 8 related computer costs; $6 ,066 consultant costs. The Commission asked the City Manager to see if the City could actually handle this project at this time; if we could afford it; what the alternatives are, and have these answers by the meeting of December 28th.
