2, On a motion by Vice Mayor Bertino, seconded by Commissioner Kay, the
Commission voted to approve the minutes of January 6 with the correc-
tion in Item #5 of the citizens comments.
3, Citizens Comments:
Mr, Bill Brooks complained about not having the right to debate issues
at commission meetings,Mayor. Duncaneon assured him that he was not
being restrained from commenting on "fssues. ,
Mr. Pete Prossic inquired'aboui signalizatfon of the traffic, lights on , .
Federal Highway and asked wbst,has been done about them. City.Manager
Kooser reported that D..O'.T.--had been contacted and that he was still
waiting to hear from them.
Mr. Sam Isenberg commented on the care of the beach. He said that sea
weed was accumulating on the beach and not being removed. „
Cotmnissioner Kay made a motion to table the first reading of an ordinance
and the establishment of a public hearing on an ordinance concerning the
restrictions on parking of commercial vehicles and 'trucks in residential
areas until February 3rd, seconded by Vice Mayor •Bertino, and passed on.
a 4 to 1 vote with Commissioner Donly voting no
Commissioner Donly made a motion to table th'e consideration of the first
reading, of an ordinance for the establishment of' a date for a .public
hearing on modifying the city charter increasing the discretionary limits
of the City Managers purchasing ability. Commissioner Adler explained that
the only intent at this meeting was to set the public hearing. . Commissioner, - '
Donly than withdrew his motion to table. On a motion by. Commissioner Kay,'• •'
seconded by Commissioner Adler, the commission unanimously passed this
ordinance on first reading and the public hearing was set .for February 17ths
The item concerning the amusement center known as Ercolin's Fantasmagoria
in the Dania Shopping Center on South Federal Highway was deferred in-
de`inctl�- per request of Attorney A.J. Ryan.

6, Commissioner Adler made a motion to enter into a lease between the
City of Dania and Mr. Anthony Forlano for certain properties owned
by the City between the ,intracoastal waterway and State A-I-A for a
commercial drift fishing boat business, seconded by Commissioner Kay
and passed unanimously.
7 , Commissioner Donly made a motion to 'approve the application to the
Broward County Marine Advisbry Committee for funds to improve recre-
ational boating in the ,City of Dania,lacdonded by Vice Mayor Bertino
and passed unanimously.
G. After discussion as to other possible locations for the well field,
Commissioner Donly made a motion to table until further notice the
item for the construction of a western well field and the construction -
of a transmission line from the well field' to the City of.Dania's
Utilitv Plant, seconded by Commissioner Kay. Motion passed unanimously.
9, City Manager Kooser had no further appointments to the City of Dania
Insurance Advisory Committee. It was decided that more appointments
and reconsideration of the portion of the resolutions I restricting
members to Dania residents only would be put on February 3rd meeting.
to. Commissioner Donly made a motion to approve the bills for the month
of December, seconded by Commissioner Kay and passed unanimousLy.

Mayor Duncanson reported that the legislative delegation.passed a
resolution suggesting that the Camp Blending area only, be annexed
to the City of Dania by a legislative .act. The City will*refute'
this resolution at the county meeting on January 29th, ,
Mayor Duncanson.reported that he had received a letter from United
Nations Representative, Daniel P. Moynihan, in reply -to our resolu-
tion against Zionism.
Vice Mayor Bertino expressed concern that the newly paved s'.E, 4th
Terrace from S.E. 3rd Avenue .to'5th.Avenue might be damaged by the '
large trucks using it.
Vice Mayor Bertino suggested that the City took into- the possibility
of withdrawing from the regional sewer system and reopening its
own sewer plant.
Vice Mayor Bertino stated that the traffic lights at Dania Elementary
School on Federal Highway and S.E. 2nd Avenue should.be turned off
after school hours becaose of children pressing the pedestrian button .
to make the cars stop thus causing a major traffic problem. It
was also suggested that the blinking light at the Dania lii-way,
Drive-in be used at operating hours only.
Vice Mayor Bertino suggested that the City cut down the amount..of
workers at the water plant.barsuse of the sewer plant .employeas that
had been transferred to the water plant.
City Manager Kooser reported that the twelve portable Police"radios
had been received.

4. Code Enforcement.
Consideration of a request by Mr. A. J. Ryan to discuss
City Ordinance 10-12A concerning coin operated amusement
machines. Mr. Ryan's request was initiated on behalf of
• his client, Mr. Mark Ercolin who opened the amusement
center known as Ercolin's Fantasmagoria in the Dania
Shopping Center on South Federal Highway.
5 . Lease.
Consideration of a lease between the City of Dania and
• Mr. Anthony Forlano ("Captain Tony") for certain proper-
ties owned by the City between the intracoastal waterway
and State A-1-A for a commercial drift fishing boat
business.
6. Grant
• Final consideration of an application to the Broward
County Marine Advisory Committee for funds to approve
recreational boating in the City of Dania.
7. Public Works
Request to receive bids for the construction of a western
• well field and the construction of a transmission line from
the well field to the City of Dania's Utility Plant.
