Police Chief: Fred Willis ' Building Inspector: Thomas Littrell U Zoning Consultant: Luther Sparkman h, On a motion by Commissioner Donly, seconded by Commiseioner Kay, the commission unanimously voted to approve the minutes .of the special meeting -f of November 26, the regular meeting of December 16, and'the special, meetings of December 22 and December 23. �y. 5. Citi.vens Comments :dr, Sam Isenberg suggested putting up a more effective traffic Iivht -on Dania Beach Blvd, and Federal Highway to help speed 'up'the'traffic; • Mr, George Hewlett showed concern on the water main across fhe"DaniaCanal ns bents were going aground on it_ 5. Mnyor Duncanson opened the public hearing on the possible ,lease-purchase' - a;,reement with Hosey Contracting for a, iront .end loader. Commissioner`Adler questioned whether this bidding procedure was 'legal He wad' assured by! Pity Attorney Mitbery that it was perfectly legal` by staite law. 'A4terdiscussion, Commissioner Adler made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Kay to close the public hearing and that City Attorney Milbery and City Manager•kooser prepare the proper agreement to be signed by the proper officials. Motion failed nn the following roll call vote: Commissioner Adler yes Vice Mayor Bertino' no Commissioner Donly yes Commissioner Kav yea Mayor Duncanson yes This motion failed due to the fact that a.unanimous vote of the commission is required. Vice Mavor Bertino made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Adler to discontinue the lease pavment on the front end loader immediately. Commissioner Adler had questions "as to portions of the .labor agreement between the City of: Dania and the Dania Police Benevolent Association. W the CCC have recommended to the County Commission that the City of Dania be awarded $320,000 for sewer installation in Western Danis, and $10,000. for the i -'+• demolition of condemned housing. Motion passed unanimously. h Mfa 1' 9, Commissioner Adler made a motion to approve the request by the City of Hollywood to landscape certain portions of Sheridan Street which lie within the boundaries of the City of Dania with no expense for capital outlay'or maintenance on the part of the City of Dania, seconded by Commissioner Kay. Motion passed unanimously. 10. City Manager Kooser recommended that Mr. Barry Loury and Mrs., Betty Jo Moffitt he appointed to the City's Insurance Committee. On -a motion by, Commissioner Adler, seconded by Commissioner Kay, the commission unanimously approved these appointments. More appointments to be presented by City Manager Kooser at n later date. 11 . A motion bw Commissioner Kay, seconded by Commis aloner, Adler to adopt a resolution to the county from the City of Dania loner our views relating ro the joint efforts by the county and the municipatites to provide improved' building inspection, City Attorney Miibery to draw up this resolution with input from the administration, .Motion passed unanimously. 19 ?n reference to the procedure for supplemental agendas, a motion was made , by Vice Mayor Bertino, seconded by Commissioner Kay that the supplemental agendas must be prepared and into the hands of the commissioners by the Friday night following the Tuesday deadline for _the regular agenda, Motion Dossed unanimously. . .
