WORKSHOP MEETING
DANIA CITY COMMISSION
AUGUST 1L, 1975
1. Present:
Mayor: Robert Duncanson
Vice Mayor: John Berti.no
• Commissioners: John Kay
Robert Donly
Police Chief: Fred Willis
Fire Chief: John Lassiter
Finance Committee: Tom Ilowiecki
Murray Goodman
2. The question of the Police Department budget was gone over between
the Mayor, Mr. McNally and Chief Willis. The question was raised as
to the positions the Manpower people held in the Police Department.
Chief iliLlis stated that he did not know where his budget could be
® cut. It was suggested that it would be better to reduce his grant
people and spend that money on better equipment which he needs.
3. The Water and Sewer budget was mentioned and the possibility of
transfering money to the general fund as long as it doesn't
interfere with the capital budget.

4. Should the old Dania Bank Building be rented? This was the subject
for a long discussion and it was decided that the rental would be
too high and a better idea would be the old Dania School, which we
own and which would be a great idea for office space for City Hall
and meetings.
5. The mayor concluded the meeting with giving the commission two days
to make a decision as to whether to increase the millage from the
present toal of 2.78 mills.
