This workshop meeting was called for the purpose of reviewing the proposed budget
iT for fiscal vear 1975-76. The new budget proposes a property tax increase of
2.78 ;,ji11s. As the copies of the proposed budget were just distributed one day 7
xr earlier, the Commission felt that time was needed to look over the budget indi-
vidual ! ,, . The Finance Committee is going to meet on Thursday, July 31, and will
f: ook over the budget then. It was decided that there will be a workshop meeting
on ':Ir_ lnesday, August 6 with the department heads, at which time the Commission
rill lirect any questions they have about the budget to the individual department
heads.

The main purpose of this meeting was to discuss the options open to the Commission
after CityManager Hampton leaves: whether to appoint an actin City Manager or

aslc l:r. Hampton to be interim City Manager. Mayor Duncanson felt that it would 4�
be in the best interests of the City to have Mr. Hampton as interim City Managerj,
on a consulting basis in order to avoid any possible dissention among the employees.
Vice itayor Bertino stated that it would be in the best interests of the City to
appoint an acting City Manager, because he feels there should be someone in
authority. Commissioner Adler made a motion to appoint Mr. Hampton as interim
0 City Manager at a salary to be determined. Commissioner Kay seconded the motion.
