SPECIAL MEETING
DANIA CITY COMMISSION
JANUARY 22, 1975

Vice Mayor: John Bertino
Commissioner: Robert Donly
City Manager: Woodward M. Hampton
City Clerk: Wanda Mullikin
Absent: Commissioners: Frank Adler

2. The Commission met in a special meeting to consider and act on
the finalization of the settlement in the Fernandez case. The
City Manager reported to the Commission on the status of the
negotiations of the settlement with the plaintiff, Fernandez
and the Florida East Coast Railway and attorneys for the insurance
carriers with the City of Dania. The City will have to contribute
$5,000 toward the settlement, which total $750,000. The City Manager
requested authorization to transfer from the Combined Utility Account,
necessary funds to recover this $5,000 payment and other costs for
attorneys and so forth, related to the case. This transfer to be in
the nature of a loan from the Combined Utility Account to the General
Fund, which is to be paid at a later date. A motion was made by
Commissioner Donly, seconded by Vice Mayor Bertino to authorize the
City Manager to make the transfer as requested. The vote was unanimous.
Nothing further to come before the Commission, the meeting adjourned.
