Roll Call Present: Vice Mayor: Robert Duncanson Commissioners: Frank Adler William Jackson ® John Kay City Manager: Woodward M. Hampton City Clerk: Wanda Mullikin City Attorney: Clarke Walden Building Inspector: Hubert Walker Zoning Consultant: Luther Sparkman. Police Department: Henry Rickmeyer (Representative) Absent: Mayor: Ted L. Kay (excused) 4. A motion was made, sustained and passed to change the meeting date of February IBth to the 25th, because of the 18th being a holiday. A motion was made by Commissioner Jackson, seconded by Commissioner Kay to approve the minutes from the meetings of January 16th, 28th and 30th, with the ® minutes of January 21st to be tabled until the meeting of the 25th, when they will be brought back for approval with corrections made. The motion Passed unanimously. A motion was made, sustained and passed to pass on second reading the ordinance to rezone the Southeast corner of Dania Beach Boulevard and Federal ® Highway from 13-2 to C-1 zoning classification. 5. Reading of the Planning and Zoning Board's minutes by Luther Sparkman, from their meeting of January 15th. The City Attorney is to advertise the new zoning ordinances for public hearing, at which time changes and modifications can be made. The Commission authorized Mr. Sparkman to get with the City ® Manager and report back to them on the cost of notifying owners of property and of having public hearings to rezone the lands in the City under the new proposed zoning. o. Commis,Aoner John Williams of Hollywood, who is also a member on the Board of the Humane Society was to present the status of the Society, but was rescheduled for the next meeting. %. County Engineer- John Gerrenwas to speak on the projected use and development of Northwest 10th Street between the City of Dania and the Airport. But he was unable to attend and the Commission instructed the City Manager to arrange for a delegation of the City to appear before the County Commission or to ® insure that County would be at the next meeting. +'i. On a mol*ipn by Commissioner Kay, seconded by Commissioner Jackson, the Commission awarded the bid for the pickup truck for the Water Department to Kelley Chevrolet in the amount of $3,529.40. )n a motion by Commissioner Adler, seconded by Commissioner Jackson, the Commission unanimously authorized a 30% increase in building permit fees of the City, to be effective March Ist. The City Attorney is to draw the proper ordinance. Cornmis; ion discussed the proposal of James Manning to restore the old house on S.W. 2nd Avenue and 4th Street. The plan presented was not !- complete. A motion was made by Commissioner Adler, seconded by Commissioner r,,,y to t,il,lo this itern until the next meeting and that if it Is to be restored, a cornplete set of plars must be filed with the City and brought before the Commission. The motion passed unanimously. Jr, o motion by Commissioner Adler, seconded by Commissioner Jackson, the, Commission granted the "No Smoking in Commission Chambers"request of Vice oyor Uunronson. On a motion by Commissioner Adler, seconded by Commissioner Jackson, 1'he Commission approva:llhe City Manager's request to authorize the City Attorney " to draw a resolution addressed to the State for park development funds. }r` • I ;. The City Attorney at this point, brought to the attention of the Commission that the park mentioned above for possible State funds for development, did i not have a dedicated right-of-way into the park. Commission waived the right-of-way problem and instructed the City Attorney to secure title insurance and to proceed with the closing. J. The question of demolishing the old pizza place on North Federal Highway ® was continued until the next meeting for Information to be furnished on right-of-way by the State. - 9;Ls 15. City Manager requested the advice of the Commission on securing pictures of The former mayors to be hung in the Commission Chambers. A motion was m.)do by Commissioner Jackson, seconded by Commissioner Adler that we try ' to get picfures of all past mayors. The motion passed unanimously. 16. On a motion by Commissioner Adler, seconded by Commissioner Kay to pass a resolution requesting the County to construct bicycle paths in the City of Dania . The motion passed unanimously. 17. On a motion by Commissioner Kay, seconded by Commissioner Jackson, the consideration of a new zoning map was continued until the meeting of r' February 25th. The motion passed unanimously. 18. On a motion by Commissioner Adler, seconded by Commissioner Kay, the t ® Commission adopted the City Manager's recommendation to grant the employees a 4 cost of living increase, effective February Ist. The motion passed unanimously. This includes the City Attorney, Judges and others on retainers. 19. The City Attorney read in total, the resolution concerning annexation of ® lands to the City. On a motion by Commissioner Kay, seconded by Commissioner Jackson, the Commission passed unanimously this annexation resolution.
