DANIA CITY COMMISSION

1. Roll Call
Present: Mayor: Ted L. Kay
Vice Mayor: Robert Duncanson r
Commissioners: Frank Adler

John Kay
City Manager: Woodward M. Hampton
City Attorney: Robert Dubow
Absent: City Clerk: Wanda Mullikin (Vacation) 't
2. The City Manager requested authorization to advertise for bids
on water plant improvements. The improvements are: Lime Slaker,
rehabilitation of the accelators, 2,000 pound per day chlorinatorT
and to rebuild four filters. Commissioner Jackson made a motion

to authorize the City Manager to advertise for bids on the waterT
plant improvements. Commissioner Duncanson seconded. The motion +
passed unanimously. s �

3. On a motion by Commissioner Duncanson, seconded by Commissioner ?
Jackson the City Manager was authorized to advertise for bids
on the package sewer plant. The motion passed unanimously. x ,
4. On a motion by Commissioner Jackson, seconded by Commissioner Kay
the City Manager was authorized to hire a consultant and to take
whatever action necessary as soon as possible to get the proper
ordinances drawn up for rezoning the City.
5. Commissioner Kay asked that the Commission go over the Planner's .
rezoning maps following the meeting of July 16th.
6. The Commission asked to have a couple of local realtors go over
the maps and give their ideas for changes to the City Manager
who in turn will have typed reports for the Commission.
7. The Mayor asked the City Manager when budget conferences could
be held, that he would like the preliminary budget set by
August 5th. Mr. Hampton reported that the budget would be to
them this week.
_ B. The Mayor asked Commissioner Kay when we could put the proposed
civic center on the agenda. Commissioner Kay said he was working
on it.
9. Commissioner Jackson brought up S.E. 5th Avenue drainage and
easements.
10. The Mayor asked the status on 7th Street. The City Attorney was
asked to set up public hearing for objections at next meeting.
11. Commissioner Duncanson brought up the possibility of bicycle
paths for Dania Beach Boulevard and Stirling Road. Report will
be prepared by City Manager.
