j 4. Commissioner Ray made a motion to approve the minutes for the
meeting of October 3, 1972. Commissioner Kelly seconded. There
were five ayes.
Commissioner Salvino made a motion to approve the bills for
September, 1972. Commissioner Kay seconded. There were five ayes.
® 6. Reading of the Planning and Zoning Boards minutes from the meeting
of October 10th.
Item #4. Board member Chester Byrd recommended that the Commission
request that the City's planning firm of Reynolds, Smith and Hills
use a black consultant from their staff. The Commission agreed to
a have the City Manager discuss this request with the Planners.
7. Commissioner Kelly made a motion to pass on third reading the
ordinance to rezone to R-Apt, on the application of Joseph Pupura,
the E� of the SEk of the SE'k of the NEk of Section 3, Township 51
South, Range 42 East, a 5+ acre parcel of undeveloped land lying
along the west side of S. E. 5th Avenue and the north side of S. E.
7th Street. Commissioner Kay seconded. There were five ayes.
8. Commissioner Kay made a motion to adopt a resolution to condemn
the following:
Legal: Lots 25 & 26 Eskilsen Owner: M. & Seena Gellman
Addition to Dania 630 Lenox Road
Address: 100 East Dania Bch. Blvd. Baldwin, New York 11510
and
Legal: Lots 38 & 39 Block A Owner: Bessie Harris
Hanson & Nelson 151 N. W. 7th Avenue
• Address: 505 & 507 N. W. 3rd Terr. Dania
Commissioner Salvino seconded. There were five ayes.
9. Commissioner Kelly made a motion to accept the City Managerts
recommendation to award the bid for the garbage packer to Tom Wood
Equipment Company in the amount of $24,093.00. Commissioner Kay
A seconded. There were five ayes.
10. Commissioner Salvino made a motion to accept the City Manager's
recommendation to award the bid for the laundry service to Riverside
Laundry as per their bid. Commissioner Kelly seconded. There were

11. The City Manager recommended that the bid for the parcel of land
including a portion of Lots 1 & 4, Block 5 Hollywood Center Amended
and a portion of the revised Plat of Hollywood Center Blocks 4 & 5,
be awarded to the Pagliarulo Bros. in the amount of $4,000. 00. The
Commission authorized the City Attorney to prepare a deed incorpor-
ating the agreed upon easement rights and restrictions as outlined
by the City Engineer.
12. Commissioner Kay made a motion to authorize the City Manager to
advertise for bids to construct the entrance and beautification
at the Westside Memorial Park. Commissioner Waiters seconded.
There were five ayes.
13. Commissioner Waiters made a motion to authorize the City Manager
to advertise for bids for four new police cars (of a lighter
weight and less powerful motor). Commissioner Kay seconded. There
were five ayes.
14. Commissioner Kelly made a motion to authorize the City Manager
to advertise for bids to treat and paint the water tower. Commissioner
Kay seconded. There were five ayes.
15. Commissioner Waiters made a motion to authorize the City Manager
to advertise for sprinklers for A-1-A. Commissioner Kay seconded.
There were five ayes.
16. Pre-engineered metal building for Public Works. Commissioner Kay
made a motion to close the bids. Commissioner Salvino seconded.
There were five ayes.
Commissioner Kay made a motion to open the bids. Commissioner Kelly
seconded. There were five ayes.
Commissioner Kay made a motion to turn the bid over to the City
Manager for his tabulation and recommendation. Commissioner Salvino
seconded. There were five ayes.
17. Commissioner Kelly made a motion to pass on all three readings an
ordinance that any activity other than selling of alcoholic beverages
?� shall be licensed by the City and that certain references shall be
secured from the owners and/or operators of the business. Commissioner
Kay seconded. There were five ayes.
18. Commissioner Kelly made a motion to pass the Revenue Sharing
Resolution. Commissioner Kay seconded. There were five ayes.
f� 19. Commissioner Kelly made a motion to pass the resolution to apply
to the Environmental Protection Agency for a Federal Grant regarding
the construction of additional sanitary sewer facilities. Commissioner
Salvino seconded. There were five ayes.
0 20. Citizen Pete Prossic suggested that the present Commission should
take a position that the City Manager should be authorized to appoint
the Department Heads. It was pointed out to him that in order for
this to be done it would require a Charter change and it would be
best to leave this for the new Commission to act on.
® 21. Special Meeting was set,to certify the votes from the primary election
held on October 17th, for October 18th at 11:�000A.M.
