Commissioner Ka made a motion to ap prove pprove the minutes of September r • lath and of the special meeting of September 25th. Commissioner Kelly seconded. There were three ayes. Y E' 4. Commissioner Kay made a motion to pass on second reading the ordinance to rezone to R-Apt. the 5+ acre parcel of undeveloped land lying along 1 the west side of S.E. 5th Avenue and the north side of S.E. 7th Street. • Commissioner Kelly seconded. There were three ayes. 5. Commissioner Kay made a motion to accept the recommendation of the City Manager to send the new plans of C.G. Pappas, Trustee back to the Planning and Zoning Board for their consideration. And to cancel the public hearing before the City Commission that was set • for October 16th. This is on the application to rezone to R-2 the 5+ acre parcel lying north of S.E. 7th Street and west of S.E. 4th Avenue and a 10+ acre parcel lying south of S.E. 7th Street between S.E. 3rd Avenue and S.E. 4th Avenue. Commissioner Kelly seconded. There were three ayes. • 6. Commissioner Kay made a motion to adopt a resolution to condemn the following: Legal description: Lot 17 Block 27 Town of Dania Address: 134 S. W. 1st Court Owner: A.R. S Rose Colletti and Legal description: Lots 11 b 12 Block C Hanson b Nelson Sub • Address: 502 N. W. 3rd Place Owner: James E. Anderson Commissioner Kelly seconded. There were three ayes. 7. The City Manager recommended that the Commission appoint three members of the boating industry to serve with himself, Chief Lassiter, and Gus Brice as a water safety and management advisory board. The • Commission selected George Hewlett of Royal Palm Marina, Zell Skinner of Cozy Cove Marina and Al Behrendt of Nautical Marina. Commissioner Kay made a motion to accept the recommendation of the City Manager. Commissioner Kelly seconded. There were three ayes. B. The City Manager requested the Commission to authorize an ordinance • which would create an occupational license category for the sale of any product other than alcoholic beverages sold at bars. This n ordinance should require the same information as we previously IN required from a person to have a liquor license. In this manner the City would know who is operating the bars and taverns. The City Attorney said he would bring this ordinance back to the , • Commission at the next meeting. 9. 8:15 p. m. Opening of bids for the garbage packer chassis and body. Commissioner Kay made a motion to close the bids for the garbage packer chassis and body. Commissioner Kelly seconded. There were three ayes. Commissioner Kay made a motion that the bids be opened. Commissioner Kelly seconded. There were three ayes. Commissioner Kay made a motion that the bids be turned over to the City Manager for his tabulation and recommendation. Commissioner Kelly seconded. There were three ayes. 10. 8:30 p.m. Opening of bids for uniform service for the City of Dania. Commissioner Kelly made a motion to close the bids. Commissioner Kay seconded. There were three ayes. Commissioner Kay made a motion to open the bids. Commitsioner Kelly seconded. There were three ayes. Commissioner Kay made a motion to turn the bids over to the City Manager for his tabulation and recommendation. Commiss- ioner Kelly seconded. There were three ayes. 11. 8:45 p.m. Opening of bids for a parcel of land including a portion of Lots 1 & 4, Block 5 Hollywood Center Amended and a portion of the revised Plat of Hollywood Center Blocks 4 & 5. Commissioner Kay made a motion that the bids be closed. Commissioner Kelly seconded. There were three ayes. Commissioner Kay made a motion that the bids be opened. Commissioner Kelly seconded. There were three ayes. Commissioner Kay made a motion to turn the bid over to the City Manager for his recommendation and that a deed be drawn. Commissioner Kelly seconded. There were three ayes. ® 12. Commissioner Kelly said he would like to request that the State Road Department put up a guard rail on the east end of the bridge on A-1-A. The City Manager said he had already contacted the State about this and that he would follow through to seek stronger safety measures with the State.
