4. Commissioner Waiters made a motion to approve the minutes of the
regular meeting of July 3rd. Commissioner Salvino seconded.
There were Four ayes.
5• Commissioner Salvino made a motion to approve the bills for the
month of June. Commissioner Waiters seconded. There were four
ayes.
6. Reading of the Planning and Zoning Board's minutes of July 11, 1972.
® Item #2• Commissioner Hay made a motion to grant a public hearing
on the application of Aldin T. Collie for a variance permit which, if
granted would permit him to construct a duplex on a lot which is in
R-1 zoning classification, Lot 27 Block 10 College Tract 2nd Addition
730 S. W. 4th Street. Commissioner Waiters seconded. There were
five ayes. The time of the hearing will be 8:15 p.m. cf.7. 7

Item #5. Commissioner Salvino made a motion to grant a public hearing
to Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Beck to rezone from R-1 zoning classification
to R-2 zoning Lots 27,28,29 and 30 Block 2 Mason Subdivision Amended,
�20 S. E. 1st Street. Commissioner Waiters seconded. There were
five ayes. The time of the hearing will be 8:30 p.m. d*- 7- 72

Representatives. Effective date of his resignation is November 6, 1972.
3. Commissioner Salvino made a motion to declare surplus the unneeded
® part of the lot upon which Lift Station "G" is located. Commissioner
Kay seconded. There were five ayes.
9• Commissioner Kay made a motion to table until the next meeting changing
the policy on requiring a bond on traffic violations for persons who
are not residents of the City of Dania. In the meantime the City
Manager and Police Chief will do some research on the problem.
Commissioner Waiters seconded. There were five ayes.
10. Public hearing. 8:15 p.m. Mr. 6 Mrs. Peebly for a variance permit
to construct a triplex. The property has a 50t frontage. The legal
is Lot 12 Block 3 Florian Isles a motion to accept the Planning Ind Section. Commissioner Kay made
and Zoning Board's recommendation to
grant a variance. Commissioner Salvino seconded. There were five ayes.
Commissioner Kay made a motion to set up a public hearing before the
Planning and Zoning Board at the earliest time to rezone this area
from B-1 to R-3 zoning classification. Commissioner Salvino seconded.
There were five ayes.
11• Commissioner Kelly made a motion to authorize the advance of up to
$30,000. 00 to the Water Department as needed from the General Fund.
This money will be transferred back to the General Fund before the
closing of this fiscal year. Commissioner Kay seconded. There were
five ayes. Commissioner Kelly asked that the Commission be notified
as to the amount of money that is transferred and when done.
1ZI . Commissioner Kay made a motion to adopt two resolutions, one to
request the County to assist us in redoing the lights of the ballfield
at Frost Park and a second to ask the County to confirm in their budget ,
funds for sharing the cost of lighting the baseball field at Collins
® Elementary and the lights for the tennis courts at Westside Park.
Commissioner Salvino seconded. There were five ayes.
13. Commissioner Salvino made a motion to authorize the City Manager
to have a fence installed around the tennis .court at Mullikin Park
at a cost of $1,275. 00. Commissioner Kay seconded. There were five ayes.
14. Commissioner Kelly made a motion to authorize the City Manager to
contact the City Engineer and the contractor to proceed as soon as
possible with the improvements on the sewer plant. Commissioner Kay
seconded. There were five ayes.
® 15. Mr. Walden, the City Attorney told the Commission that he would have
to see Ja re Carroll, Supervisor of Registration, concerning changing
the date of our primary election because of the machines being locked
for ten days. Since the county holds their elections on the third
of October, it would make it impossible for us to hold our election--,
October loth.
® 16. Mayor Jackson proposed that the City Manager be authorized by a
charter change through a referendum put on the ballot for the
election to hire and fire department heads. After much discussion
the matter was tabled until the next meeting.
A 17. Mayor Jackson asked that Chief Brugger look into the matter of the
dogs and horses on the beach that belongs to the City, that is the
225 feet north of the Pier. Also the beach buggies and motor bikes
that are being driven on that section of the Beach.
