Eby and Rodney McCombs to rezone the following property: Lots 1-8 Block 2 Victoria Villas. One objector was present. Commissioner Kay made a motion to pass on first reading the ordinance to change from R-1 • zoning classification to R-2 Lots 1 through 8 Victoria Villas. Commissioner Waiters seconded. There were five ayes. 9• 8: 30 P. M. Public hearing. Hearing of protests and accepting bids on the following described lands: All of Lot 11, less the South seven inches, and Lot 12, Block 22, Town of Dania. There were no objectors ® present. Commissioner Salvino made a motion to close the bids. Commissioner Kay seconded. There were five ayes. Commissioner Kay made a motion to open the bids. Commissioner Salvino seconded. There were five ayes. Commissioner Kay made a motion to accept the bid from Georgetown for $33,000.00. A cashier's check in the amount of $3,300.00 was received representing 10% of this bid. Commissioner w Salvino seconded. There were five ayes. 10. The minutes of the Planning and Zoning Board's meeting of June 13th were read. Item #2• Commissioner Kay made a motion to grant a variance permit ® of 20 feet for a pool in the backyard at 710 N. W. 12th Avenue on the application of Florida Mercury Building and Trading, Inc. Commissioner Kay made a motion to grant a public hearing a on July 17th at 8:15 to Mr. Robert Peely to approve the plans for a triplex on Lot 12 Block 3 Florian Isles 2nd Section, 1473 N. W. 10th Street. Commissioner Waiters seconded. There were five ayes. Judge Black was present to represent Harry Lowry concerning a piece of property on the corner of S. W. 4th Avenue and S. W. 3rd Place. N Judge Black was advised that it would be necessary to have an appraisal made and then come back before the Commission for a public hearing. 12. A representative from the Area Planning Board was present to request the following information as soon as possible: (a) Which grant the City is requesting - 7,000 - 14,000 or 10,000 -20,000. (b) Naming a Planning Consultant - either Reynolds, Smith and Hill or Anson Grove Haack and Associates. ® Commissioner Kelly made a motion to hire the firm of Reynolds, Smith and Hill. Commissioner Kay seconded. There were five ayes. 13. Commissioner Kay made a motion to table the third reading of the Sage Corporation's proposed shopping center until the next meeting. Commissioner Salvino seconded. There were five ayes. ® 14. Commissioner Kay made a motion to table the approval to place assessment against Sage Corporation for the proposed shopping center. Commissioner Waiters seconded. There were five ayes. 15. Commissioner Kay made a motion to pass on first and second reading 0 the ordinance to approve the Plat for Florian Isles 4th Section. Commissioner Waiters seconded. There were five ayes. Mr. Bill Woods is to talk to Mr. Florian regarding the entrance to the West cul-de-sac to B. J. Floridan's residence and return to the July 3rd meeting. ® 16. Ray Jones, Jr. , the fiscal agent said that he had talked to people in Jacksonville regarding the City's problem of obtaining funds for needed sewer improvements and they said a Bond Anticipation Note could be used, or that the City could settle on a set amount that they needed and he would find out what the rate of interest would be. 17. Commissioner Kay made a motion to turn the matter of the boat patrol for the Dania Cut-off Canal over to the City Manager. Commissioner Salvino seconded. There were five ayes. 18. After some discussion, Commissioner Kay made a motion to table the public hearing of Griffin Industrial Park. They were represented by Wm. McFarlane. This will be brought up again at the July 3rd meeting. Commissioner Salvino seconded. There were five ayes. City Attorneys Report 19. The Commission agreed to turn the Walfi Car Wash matter over to Mr. Walker until the next meeting. 20. Commissioner Kay made a motion to issue Ocean Protein a permit to install a concrete tank with the stipulation that the City has the right to request the tank to be removed within a reasonable length of time. Commissioner Kelly made a motion authorizing the City Attorney to draw up a resolution and forward it on to the proper authority . , regarding the State Income Tax. Commissioner Kay seconded. There were five ayes. 22. The Commission extended the time allowed Mrs. Barber of 715 S. W. 4th Terrace to have estimates for repairs made to her house to bring it up to the Standards of the South Florida Building Code or have :'�� • it demolished. The time was extended to thirty days. r= 23. The representative from the Area Planning Board asked the Commission to vote on an amount for the grant the City is requesting.
