REGULAR MEETING
DANIA CITY COMMISSION
May 15, 1972
1. Invocation by City Attorney, Clarke Walden.
2. Pledge of Allegiance.

4. Commissioner Kay made a motion to approve the minutes of the meeting
of May 8, 1972. Commissioner Salvino seconded. There were five ayes.
S. Commissioner Kelly made a motion to table the third reading of the
proposed shopping center at the request of Sage Corporation until
the next meeting. Commissioner Kay seconded. There were five ayes.
G. Henry Graham, Youth Director, Jobs National Alliance of Businessmen
appeared before the Commission to request that the City hire some
high school students for the summer. The Commission turned the
matter over to the City Manager.
7. Fred Bailey 8:15 P. M. public hearing. Commissioner Waiters made
a motion to pass on all three readings the ordinance rezoning the
West � of the NW4 of the NW'k of the SW'k of Sec. 35-50-42. This is
a 5 acre parcel of land lying along the east side of the proposed
NE Sth Avenue, from present classification to R-Apartment with the
condition that the applicant give the City the right-of-way deed
befinethe site plan is approved. Commissioner Kay seconded. There
were five ayes. Commissioner Kay made a motion to set a meeting for
_ Monday, May 22 at 4: 30 P. M. to go over the site plan. Commissioner
Salvino seconded. There were five ayes.
8. Planning and Zoning Board's minutes of May 9th. Commissioner Salvino
made a motion to accept the Planning and Zoning Board's recommendation
to grant a variance permit to Robert E. Callahan to construct a duplex
on a lot in L-2 zoning at 230 S. W. 9th Street which lot is less than
SU feet in width. Commissioner Kelly seconded. There were five ayes.
Commissioner Kelly made a motion to grant Mr. Alfred Palladino a
public hearing on June 5, 1972 at 8:30 P. M. Commissioner Salvino
seconded. There wete five ayes.
Commissioner Salvino made a motion to pass on first reading the
amended R-3 ordinance. Commissioner Kay seconded. There were five ayes.
Commissioner Kelly made a motion granting Griffin Industrial Park a
public hearing for June 5, 1972 at 8:45 P. M. Commissioner Salvino
seconded. There were five ayes.
10. Commissioner Salvino made a motion to table the Finnegan-Seuss matter
indefinitely to give Judge Black time to take it to court.
Commissioner Waiters seconded. There were five ayes.
Commissioner Kelly made a motion to table the Beck matter until the
June 5th meeting. Commissioner Kay seconded. There were five ayes.

® 11. Commissioner Kelly made a motion to authorize demolition of two
houses located at 705 S. W. 4th Terrace and 1 S. W. 6th Avenue.
Commissioner Kay seconded. There were five ayes.
12. Commissioner Salvino made a motion to accept the City Managerts
recommendation and award the bid for the fire truck to Ward La France
® for $31,350. 00. Commissioner Kay seconded. There were five ayes.
13. Commissioner Kelly made a motion that a resolution be adopted
authorizing the proper officials of the City to enter into an
addendum agreement with the City of Hollywood regarding sewer
connection at Harding Street and the resolution also approved
charges in the large g y

14. Commissioner Kay made a motion to pass on first reading the
amendment to the utility tax ordinance to -remove cap of $250; per
z month bill. Commissioner Salvino seconded. There were five ayes.
Commissioner Salvino made a motion to approve the bill for $3,300.00

r � 16. Commissioner Kay made a motion to pay the bill of $10,740.00 to
�E O Broome 6 Farina for the engineering that was done for the
modification of the sewer plant. Commissioner Kelly seconded.

-< 17. Commissioner Waiters made a motion to adopt the resolution for the
sale of the old City Hall property, Block 11 and 12, Lot 22, Town
® of Dania. Commissioner Salvino seconded. There were five ayes.
There will be a public hearing held on June 19, 1972 at 8:30 P. M.
to receive bids and protests heard.
The meeting adjourned.
