4. A letter was read from Mr. Ray Jones, Fiscal Agent on the
procedure to change the sewer rates, the letter indicates

Particular State Statuteof 1964, namely 184.
A copy of the Statute was given to the Commissioners which
a method by which municipalities can initially set a schedule
rate and provides

the rate schedule and publish a notice of it and have a hearing

5• The City Attorney read the resolution to be adopted for
Mr. Marks to gain ownership of a right-of-way consisting in
part of S. E. 2nd Avenue. Commissioner Kelly made a motion to
adopt two resolutions, one is a primary resolution turning it
over to the Planning and Zoning Board and when they give their
recommendations, then the Commission can adopt the final
resolution as read. Commissioner Salvino seconded. There
were five ayes.

6. Commissioner Kelly made a motion to grant a public hearing
to Mr. Lee Dolan on April 17, at 5:30 P. M. for a variance
Permit concerning the rear setback for a pool and screen
g enclosure at 1420 N. W. 9th Street.There were five ayes. Mayor Jackson seconded.
7. Mayor Jackson made a motion to adopt the ordinance for the
the Damn Corporation on first reading, approving the plat for

sewer tank be closed. Commissioner Salvino seconded.
After some discussion Mayor Jackson withdrew his motion

9. The City Manager recommended that the minimum charges be based
on the size of the meter for water sales. The 5/8" meter at
$2.00; the 3/4"meter at $2.50; the 1" meter at $5.00; the
1 1/2" meter at $10.00; the 2" meter at $20.00; the 3" meter
at $35.00; the 4" meter at $60.00; the 6" meter at $120.00;
® the 8" meter at $200.00. The 'City Attorney said he would
draw up a resolution adopting these rates and present it at
the April 8th meeting.
10. The City Commission will hold a public hearing,on April 172'
1972 at 8:15 P. Myy o hear any objections to the paving of
® S. E. 7th Street 19� 2nd Avenue to 5th Avenue. Commissioner
Salvino made a motion to authorize the City Manager to
advertise for bids for the construction and the bids will be
opened at 8: 30 P. M. at the May 8th meeting. Mayor Jackson
seconded. There were five ayes.
11. The City Manager recommended that the contribution to the
Pension System of $22,000.00 for the general employees and
$2,400.00 for the Water Department employees be paid. Mayor
Jackson made a motion 'to pay this amount. Commissioner
Salvino seconded. There were five ayes.
12. The City Manager asked the Commissioners to consider an
ordinance that would require all developers of one acre or
more to dedicate 5% of their land or a cash contribution
of equal value to the City to be used specifically for the
acquisition of additional park sites.
® 13. Mayor Jackson made a motion to postpone the Commission
meeting of May 12 1972 until May 8, as the City Manager
will be attending the Florida City Manager's Conference at
Winter Park the week of April 26th and will not have time to
make up an agenda. Commissioner Salvino seconded. There
were five ayes.
14. Mayor Jackson made a motion to keep our municipal court for
the present time and to notify the presiding Judge of the
decision. Commissioner Salvino seconded. There were five ayes.
15. Commissioner Waiters made a motion to authorize an ordinance
to be past on three readings authorizing the City of Dania
to enter into a large user waste water agreement with.the City of
Hollywood in the form that has been presented to you, which
will be attached to the ordinance. Commissioner Salvino
seconded. There were five ayes.
® 16. Commissioner Waiters made a motion to authorize Mr. Farina and
the City Manager to negotiate the addendum agreement for the
Harding Street connection with the City of Hollywood and let
them pass it and proffer it to this Commission then, because
we approved this one and sent itback to them and as soon as
they've approved the large user agreement with us, then we
0 will ask them to pass a resolution for us to tie into the
Harding Street line and then we will bring that back to this
Commission to consider for final approval. Mayor Jackson
seconded. There were five ayes.
17. Commissioner Kay reminded each Commissioner to submit a
name to Mr. Hampton so these men might get together to discuss
the possibility of holding elections by districts.
