t 4• Approval of Minutes. Commissioner Waiters made a motion to accept
the minutes of the regular Commission meeting of April 19, 1971.
• Commissioner Salvino seconded. There were three ayes.
S. Michael's Inn. Commissioner Salvino made a motion to pass on
second reading a transfer of a 4 COP license from Thomas Manillo,
Open Door Bar to Michael's Inn, 1431 North Federal Highway.
Commissioner Waiters seconded. There were four ayes.

6. Wayside Inn. Commissioner Waiters made a motion to pass on first
reading a transfer of a 4 COP license from Dennis Murphy to Vetmur,
Inc. Commissioner Salvino seconded. There were four ayes.
7. New England Lobster House. Commissioner Kelly made a motion to
• pass on first reading a transfer of name from New England Lobster
House , Inc. to New England Oyster House of Dania, Inc. Commissioner
Waiters seconded. There were four ayes.
8. Fishing Pier. Commissioner Waiters made a motion to approve the
paying of $6,735. 00 to LaCroix Electric for electrical work done
• at the fishing pier. Commissioner Salvino seconded. There were
four ayes.
Doctor Johnson. Commissioner Waiters made a motion that the
Commission ask the Zoning Board to consider Doctor Johnson's

The Commission then will conduct a hearing on May 17th. Commissioner
Salvino seconded. There were four ayes. This concerns building
two units onto the building Doctor Johnson is now occupying. This
would conform if only residential use is made of the building, however,
the use for professional office precludes us from granting a permit
;• to expand the structure without Commission's approval.

1 '• Alcee Hastings. Request for sewer service to project in N. W.
section of the City. The Commission asked Mr. Hampton to contact
?. Mir. Farina , the City's Engineer and have him report on this by the
next meeting, May 17th, any expenses to be paid by the developer.
11. Public Hearing. 8:30 P. M. The City Manager recommended that two
acres be dedicated to the City for a mini-park, that the streets,
sewers , water and other site development costs be at the expense
e of the developer. If construction has not begun in six months
vacated streets revert to the City. All this was agreed to by the
• _ developer. Commissioner Kelly made a motion that the Commission
' accept the City Manager's recommendation. Commissioner Waiters
seconded. There were four ayes.

12. Mayor Jackson opened the discussion on the feasibility of selling
the old Dania Bank Building on the corner of Dania Beach Boulevard
and Pederal Highway, and that the money derived from this sale be
earmarked specifically for a community center or multi-purpose
building, the location to be determined later.
13. Commissioner Waiters made comment that he would like the City to
look into the possibility of obtaining matching federal funds to
build a mini-park in the southwest area of Dania where there are
no parks.
14. A lady from the audience said she would like to see a street light
out up on S. E. 2nd Avenue and Sheridan Street , and possibly an
avenue out in east of 2nd Avenue. The lady was informed that the
City is working on such, which will be Sth Avenue. She was told
to get in touch with the City Manager about the street light.
The meeting was adjourned.
