4. Broome & Farina - Drainage. Mr. Farina gave the Commission his final
estimate of $59,156.00 which covers the drainage between South East 2nd
Terrace and South East 6th Street and hooking into a permanent system.
Then Mr. Farina said that he could have the specifications and plans
ready for advertising in the newspaper by February 20, 1970. So as to
• give the people plenty of time to bid the Commissioners named the date
of March 16th, 1970 for the opening of the bids. Commissioner Kelly asked
Mr. Farina what happened to the project on N. E. 3rd Street? Mr. Farina
said he estimated this at $3500.00. Mayor Houston said that part of this
was o.k. now but behind Skinner's Yacht Basin was another problem area.
Commissioner Thornton made a motion to authorize the City Engineer to
draw plans and specifications on the S.E. 2nd Terr. to S.E. 6th Street
drainage and also include N.E. 3rd Street as an alternate bid and this
to be advertised in the newspaper on February 20, 1970 with March 16th
set for opening of bids. Commissioner Waiters seconded the motion. Roll
was called and the vote was 5-0.
