HomeMy WebLinkAbout31103 - MINUTES - City Commission MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING, CITY COMMISSION, CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA, HELD OCTOBER 13, 1967. The City Commission of the City of Dania, Florida, met in Special Session in the Commission Room at the City Hall. Present were: MAYOR-COMMISSIONER RICHARD MARANT COMMISSIONERS JAMES ADAMS GUS BRICE ROBERT KELLY BOISY WAITERS CITY ATTORNEY CLARKE WALDEN CITY MANAGER •STANLEY GOLDBERG CHIEF OF POLICE ANTHONY CARACCI BUILDING INSPECTOR HUBERT WALKER (,Absent) CITY CLERK MARY THORNHILL The meeting was called to order at 3:30 P.M. by Mayor Marant, for the purpose of checking the totals on the voting machines. City Attorney Walden stated that it has been customary in pre- vious years that anyone requesting the checking of the machines should make that request on the/following the election. Actually no candidate has requested a check of the machihes. Idly- He suggested that they appoint a committee to check the machines, then adjourn this meeting. And, unless they find some discrepan- cies, they should not reconvene. Commissioner Brice suggested the committee to consist of the Mayor, the City Clerk, the City Manager and the Police Chief; and any _ other interested persons who may wish to go may do so. "Personally, I have no desire to" . Commissioner Brice further suggested that, just for the sake of a satisfying everyone, there should be a representative of the Sher- iff 's department there. City Attorney Walden stated that he personally did not think the representative of the Sheriff's department would be necessary. e Mayor Marant appointed himself, Mrs. Thornhill, City Manager Gold- berg, and Chief Caracci to the Committee. City Clerk Thornhill asked if the Commission wishes for her to go ahead with the General Election. Commissioner Brice: Sure, I'm positive. Why not? City Clerk Thornhill: I just want to be sure.
