The City Commission of the City of Dania, Florida, met in

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M. by Vice-Mayor Kelly,
after which Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance were held.
Vice-Mayor Kelly advised that Mayor Marant, City Manager Goldberg
® and City Attorney Walden were out of town (Tallahassee) on City
business; and Commissioner Brice is on vacation. Vice-Mayor Kelly
called for a motion to excuse these officials.
A motion was made by Commissioner Waiters to excuse these officials.
The motion was seconded by Commissioner Adams, and the roll being

Chief Caracci stated that the Police Department is waiting for the
fingerprints to clear.
A motion was made by Commissioner Adams to table this transfer, pend-
ing further investigation by the Police Department. The motion was
seconded by Commissioner Waiters, and the roll being called, the
Commissioners voted as follows:

Commissioner Adams, and the roll being called, the Commissioners

Vice-Mayor Kelly called for additional bids from the audience. There
were none.

(4-1) Warren Pickering request final approval of
plans for 20 unit apartments.
A motion was made by Mr. Sessa to table this and have Mr.
Pickering appear before the Board to discuss these plans.
The motion was seconded by Mr. Byrd, and carried unanimously.
No action.
(4-2) Florian/Bartley application for building
permit, for 2 duplexes on N W. loth Street
west of the Gas Works.
A motion was made by Mr. DeMuzzio that the plans be accepted
with the inclusion of the dry wells in *the parking area. The
® motion was seconded by Mr. Byrd, and carried unanimously.
No action.
(4-3) Mike Sivik, approval of temporary storage shed.
Mr. Shaefer recommended that the Board give Mr. Sivik 90 days
to move the tool shed. (August 19)
No action.
6. Public Hearing, 8:00 P.M.: Frank E. Miller E James
DeCoursey, request variance on following:
Legal: Lot 1, Block 21, North Hollywood.
Address: Corner of Dixie Highway and S.W. llth St.
A motion was made by Mr. Sessa to approve the plans as pre-
sented, subject to approval of the final plans. The motion
was seconded by Mr. Erwin, and carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Commissioner Adams to advertise for a public
hearing before the City Commission, to be held July 5, 1967, at 8:15
P.M. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Waiters, and the roll
being called, the Commissioners voted as follows:

7. Ernest Keethler, representing All Construction Co. ,
0 requests permission to remove trailer-office and
construct an office building on N.W. 4th Avenue,
next to Davis Meter Company.
A motion was made by Mr. Sessa to give tentative approval, sub-
ject to the presentation of final plans. The motion was seconded
0 by Mr. Erwin, and carried unanimously.
No action.
8 . Report from Mr. Loury regarding letter requested by
Commissioner Brice.
A motion was made by Mr. Byrd to authorize Mr. Loury to write
the letter to Citgo Company that the Board would look favorably
on granting a variance. The motion was seconded by Mr. DeMuzzio,
and passed unanimously.

9. Report from Mr. Loury concerning traffic trip light on
corner of Federal Highway and Taylor Road.

A motion was made by Mr. Erwin to go on record that the Board
recommends highly the installation of this light, due to the
fact that there are from 200 to 250 semV s coming out of the
• port daily. The motion was seconded by Mr. DeMuzzio, and
carried unanimously.

REPORT FROM BUILDING INSPECTOR WALKER regarding Petition
® for paving an alley in Block 2, Dania Tropical Estates.
Building Inspector Walker advised .that he investigated, and found
everything in order.
A motion was made by Commissioner Waiters to authorize the City Attor-
ney to draw up a Resolution of Necessity for the paving of the alley
in Block 2, Dania Tropical Estates . The motion was seconded by Com-
missioner Adams, and the roll being called, the Commissioners voted as
follows:

Commissioner Kelly reported that the City Attorney, the Mayor, and
City Manager are all in Tallahassee tonight in regards to the annexa-
tion. He advised that Mr. Haliburton, along with the City Manager, has
P done a lot of work in regards to the annexation in the northeast section
in the area East of US #1, and just South of the Port. He stated that
they have obtained over 51% of the property owners in that area, who
tave indicated that they desire to come into the City. Commissioner Kelly
commended Mr. Haliburton for the effort and hard work that he has put
into getting the necessary signatures.
