City Clerk Thornhill advised that the Chief of Police haci denied
the application of Riverside Beer Garden at one time. Now Willie
Mitchell has put in another application. She talked to City Attorney
Walden about it, and he said that inasmuch as the application was
not signed by Cedie Bell Mitchell, the person who holds the license,
he did not think that it should be issued; but if Willie Mitchell
should want a license, he should make application for one himself.
She then read a letter from City Attorney Walden to Attorneys Sy
Chadroff , 1033 City National Bank cuilding, Miami, Florida, and
William F. Hunter, Jr. , 1909 Tyler Street, Hollywood, Florida, a
copy of which letter is attached to and :,ade a part of these minutes.
City Clerk Thornhill further advised that City Attorney Walden stated
he would contact the Chief of Police about the Aloha Club and inform
him that the License was not being renewed, so if they were operating
it is without a license.
Since the Aloha Club license was tabled before. and the application
of Cedie Bell Mitchell was denied, there was no action taken on the
two applications at this time.
