Discussion and approval of a revised annexation map. City Manager Flatley distributed a brochure on Dania prepared by the County that is expected to be sent out to - all the unincorported areas expressing the benefits of I living in Dania. [ M ^ Discussion followed concerning the City of Hollywood 's 4 proposed revisions to the original approved annexation map. The revision involves Hollywood trading-off a 30 acre f commercial site over to Dania for Dania giving up a shopping center along Griffin Road that was originally proposed to be in Dania. i City Manager Flatley explained that this revision would ...,F involve an assessed value of 17 million with a gain of 900 people in exchange for the shopping complex which is valued at 16. 4 million with a gain of 1100 people. City Manager ` Flatley explained that the revision is based on an equal sharing of tax base and equal sharing of population. City Manager Flatley informed the Commission that he has met with several civic groups in the proposed annexation area west of Ravenswood Road in an effort to hear the views of the residents on whether they would like to be annexed ' ' into Dania or Hollywood. Mr. Flatley explained that the residents in the Ravenswood North, Ravenswood Gardens, and Ravenswood Estate Mobile Home Park and Twin Oaks and Stirling Oaks Townhouses have expressed interest in being annexed into Hollywood. Mr. Flatley informed the Commission j that he hopes to have an opportunity to meet with individuals from these areas to inform them of the benefits of being annexed into Dania. t r ' SPECIAL COMMISSION MEETING 1 OCTOBER 30, 1989 f �(k lj I ' .I 1 ,77 ' IN x� t Discussion continued regarding the Commission ' s dissatisfaction with Hollywood 's requested revision to the approved annexation map. After lengthy discussion, it was decided that there would be no revision made to the original approved annexation map. The Commission directed City Manager Flatley and City Attorney Adler to meet with the Broward Legislative Delegation and determine their thoughts with regards to the original agreement . i A motion was made by Commissioner Grace and seconded to adjourn this meeting.
