HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-1975-094 ' I i I II it I RESOLUTION NO. 94 I A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE JUSTIFIED BUDGET OF THE BROWARD COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT AND REQUESTING THAT THAT I j PORTION OF SAID BUDGET WHICH RELATES l DIRECTLY TO THE SERVICES PERFORMED BY THE SHERIFF'S ROAD PATROL SYSTEM, BE PAID BY THE CITIZENS OF BROWARD COUNTY, WHO RESIDE IN THE UNINCORPORATED AREAS, AND FURTHER SOLICITING THE AID OF THE BROWARD COUNTY COMMISSION IN EQUITABLY LEVYING TAXES BETWEEN THE CITIZENS OF UNINCORPORATED AND INCORPORATED AREAS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA. WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Dania, Florida i recognizes the need for continued services performed by the Brow- ard County Sheriff's Department, and WHEREAS, the City Commission likewise recognizes that those citizens of Broward County who specifically benefit from one por- tion of the services rendered by the Broward County Sheriff's De- ' I partment, to the exclusion of other Broward County residents, should pay for those services so rendered. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE i L E CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA: Section 1: That the City Commission of the City of Dania i does support the justified budget of the Broward County Sheriff's Department . Section 2 : That the City Commission of Dania likewise speci- fically requests the Board of County Commissioners to levy a spec- ial tax in the unincorporated areas of Broward County to pay for that portion of the Broward County Sheriff's Department budget which relates directly to the performance of services by the Brow- ard County Road Patrol System in the unincorporated areas of Brow- ard County, Florida. I i IISection 3 : That the City Commission of the City of Dania j further solicits the aid of the Board of County Commissioners in equitably levying taxes between the citizens of incorporated and unincorporated areas of Broward County, Florida. j Section 4: That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in i' conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such con- flict. Section 5: This resolution shall take effect immediately �I upon its' passage and adoption.
