RESOLUTION NO. 59
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS , BROWARD COUNTY,
FLORIDA, TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH
CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA, WHEREBY BROWARD
COUNTY, FLORIDA, AGREES TO FURNISH THE
LABOR, MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT REQUIRED
TO REPAIR, MAINTAIN AND IMPROVE THE
PUBLIC PARKS IN CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA,
AND WHEREBY CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA, OBLI-
GATES ITSELF TO REIMBURSE THE COUNTY FOR
THE COST OF SUCH LABOR, MATERIALS AND
EQUIPMENT;

AND
PROVIDING THAT ALL RESOLUTIONS, OR PARTS OF
RESOLUTIONS , IN CONFLICT HEREWITH ARE HEREBY
REPEALED TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH CONFLICT; AND
PROVIDING THAT THIS RESOLUTION SHALL BE IN
FORCE AND TAKE EFFECT IMMEDIATELY UPON ITS
PASSAGE AND ADOPTION
WHEREAS, the city manager has reported to the city commission
that Board of County Commissioners, Broward County, Florida, may
be willing to enter into an agreement with City of Dania,
Florida, whereby the county furnishes all labor, materials and
equipment required to' repair, maintain and improve the public
parks in City of Dania, Florida, and whereby the city then agrees
to reimburse the county for the actual costs of such labor,
materials and equipment; and

WHEREAS, the city manager has further indicated to the
city commission that the volume of such work which is done by
the appropriate departments of the county is so large that the
county can actually repair, maintain and improve the municipal
parks at a cost substantially less than the amount which the
city would pay if it undertook - to do such work directly, and
WHEREAS, the city commission has reviewed the matter and
accepts the recommendations and suggestions of the city manager
regarding the matter,,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That Woodward M. Hampton, as city manager of
City of Dania, Florida, be and he is hereby authorized and
directed to act on behalf of the city in negotiating an agreement
with Board of County Commissioners, Broward County, Florida,
whereby Broward County shall agree to furnish all labor, materials
and equipment required to repair, maintain and improve the public
parks in City of Dania and whereby the city shall agree to reim-
burse the county for the actual costs of such labor, materials
u r} and equipment.
Section 2. Further, if the city manager is successful in
negotiating such an agreement which (in the judgment of the city
manager) is for the best interests of the city, then, in such
event, the mayor-commissioner, city manager and city clerk-auditor
be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute the
agreement on behalf of the city.
Section 3. That the city manager shall report his actions
in the matter to the city commission at such time as the agree-
ment is finally negotiated and the matter concluded.

Section 4 That all resolutions, or parts of resolutions,
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such con-
flict.
Section 5 That this resolution shall be in force and take
effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
