RESOLUTION NO. 52.1
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA,
URGING ALL OWNERS OF BUSINESS INTERESTS
j WITHIN THE CITY OF DANIA TO GIVE PREFEREN-
TIAL TREATMENT TO RESIDENTS OF THE CITY OF
DANIA IN THE RECRUITING AND HIRING OF
EMPLOYEES AND TO EMPLOY LOCAL CONTRACTORS
FOR ANY NEW CONSTRUCTION, EXPANSION OR
REMODELING OF THEIR BUSINESS PROPERTIES AND
URGING ALL SUCH BUSINESSES WITHIN THE CITY
TO TRADE AND OTHERWISE DEAL WITH LOCAL
BUSINESSMEN; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. That all owners and/or managers of businesses
located within the City of Dania are hereby requested to give
preferential treatment to residents of the City of Dania in the
recruiting and hiring of employees and, likewise, give preference
to local contractors and suppliers in connection with the con-
struction, expansion or remodeling of their business properties
whenever it is possible to do so without detriment to such owners

and/or managers.
:,....� Section 2. That all business interests and all citizens of
the City of Dania are hereby urged, to the greatest extent possible ,
to shop, trade and otherwise deal with business establishments lo-
cated within the City of Dania.
Section 3. That a copy of this Resolution be furnished to
each and every business concern located within the City of Dania.

Section 4. That this Resolution shall be in force and take
effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.

RESOLUTION NO . 52
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA,
OPPOSING THE INCREASES IN DISPOSAL FEES
CHARGED BY BROWARD COUNTY; AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE .
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the City Commission of the City of Dania,

Florida , does hereby express its strongest opposition to the increases
in disposal tipping fees proposed by Broward County at its Davie
i
facility as set forth in the Memorandum published by the County ' s
Solid Waste Division on August 30 , 1983 , because the said rates are
unrealistic and not made in good faith and are completely untimely
and premature.
Section 2 . That any such decision should be made only
° after the present negotiations between Broward County and the

I various municipalities for interlocal agreements for solid waste w^
i
disposal services have been concluded and a firm decision has been
made in that regard.

Section 3 . That any such increases , even if justified,
should not be made in point of time after the affected taxing

bodies have prepared and finalized their annual budgets which such
increases would materially affect .
Section 4 . This resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its passage and adoption.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 13th day of September, 1983 .
