j A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA,
FLORIDA, AS REQUIRED BY THE CITY
CHARTER AND SECTION 200. 065 , FLORIDA
STATUTES , APPROVING THE PROPOSED
MILLAGE RATE NECESSARY TO BE LEVIED
FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1982-1983; AND
PROVIDING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING WHEN
OBJECTIONS THERETO WILL BE HEARD AND
QUESTIONS CONCERNING SAME WILL BE I
ANSWERED; AND REPEALING ALL RESOLU-
TIONS OR PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS IN CON-
FLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.

WHEREAS , the City Charter of the City of Dania , Florida ,
requires that the City Commission shall , by Resolution, adopt
an annual budget , determine the amount of millage necessary to
be levied and publish the budget so adopted, together with a
notice stating the time and place where objections thereto will

be heard; and
WHEREAS , the City Manager of the City of Dania , Florida ,
has prepared and submitted to the City Commission an annual
report covering the operating of the City and has set forth
therein an estimate of the expenditures and revenues of the City
for the ensuing year, beginning October 1, 1982 and ending
September 30, 1983 , with sufficient copies of such report and
estimate being on file in the office of the City Clerk-Auditor
so that any interested party may obtain copies upon request ; and

WHEREAS , the City Manager has presented to the City �-
Commission detailed information supporting such estimate ,
affording the City Commission a comprehensive understanding of
the City government for the ensuing period , including expenditures t
for corresponding items during the last two fiscal years and
increase and decrease of demands for the ensuing year as com-
pared with corresponding appropriations for the last fiscal year ;
and
WHEREAS , the City Commission has met and carefully con-
sidered such annual report and estimate for the ensuing year and
has determined and fixed the amount necessary to carry on the I

government of the City for the ensuing year and has prepared
a tentative budget setting forth the amounts necessary to be
raised for the various departments of the City and has ap-
propriated such amounts to the various departments of the City
considering the applicable funds on hand and the estimated
departmental revenues ; and
I WHEREAS , the City of Dania will receive an estimated

sum of $288 , 860 . 00 from the State of Florida as its part of the
distribution of the City ' s share of the additional one cent
j sales tax imposed by the State Legislature , of which sum forty
percent (40%) is mandated by the State Legislature to be used
by the City to reduce the ad valorem tax rate , which said amount
is in the sum of $115 ,544 . 00 ; and
" WHEREAS , the City Commission has decided that one hundred
percent (100%) of said sales tax distribution shall be used for b,
ad valorem tax relief ; and
WHEREAS , the City Commission has determined that in order
to produce a sufficient sum to fund such tentative budget , it
is necessary that a provisional millage of 5 . 317 be levied against
ad valorem valuation of property subject to taxation in the City
of Dania; and
WHEREAS , the "rolled back rate" as computed in accordance
with the provisions of Section 200 .065 (l) , Florida Statutes , is
5. 545 mills ; and
WHEREAS , said proposed millage is less than said "rolled
back rate" by . 228 mills.
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF DANIA , FLORIDA:

ISection 1 . That the proposed general municipal millage
jI necessary to be levied against ad valorem valuation of property

{ subject to taxation in the City of Dania to produce a sufficient
sum, which, together with departmental revenue , will be adequate

to pay the appropriations made in the tentative budget , are

FOR OPERATING BUDGET :

FOR DEBT SERVICE : 0 . 000 Mills
FOR VOTED MILLAGE : 0 . 000 Mills

Section 2 . That said proposed millage rate is less than

computed in accordance with the pro

visions of Section 200 .065(1) , Florida Statutes , by 4 . 111 percent.
Section 3. That the City Commission of the City of Dania,
will meet in the City Commission Room in the City Hall on
Tuesday, September 21, 1982 , at 8: 00 P .M. , for the purpose of
adopting the above stated millage rate and answering questions
concerning same . The City Manager shall specify the purposes
for which ad valorem tax revenues are being increased , if any ,
over the "rolled back rate" . A notice of this public hearing
shall be published in strict compliance with the provisions of

Section 200 . 065 (2) (d) and Section 200 .065 (3) , Florida Statutes .

Section 4 . This resolution shall take effect and be in
force immediately upon its passage and adoption.
Section 5 . All resolutions or parts of resolutions in
conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed to the
extent of such conflict .

REDUCTIONS and $-0 for ENHANCED PUBLIC SERVICES.
All concerned citizens are invited to a public hearing to be held on September 7,1982
at 8:15 P.M. in t.ln. Commission Chambers at the Dania City Hall , 100 11. Dania Leach Blvd. ,

A DECISION on the use of these moneys will be made at this hearing.
