HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-1982-436 RESOLUTION NO . 436 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE CONVERSION OF ALL FLORIDA POWER AND LIGHT COMPANY STREET LIGHTS FROM MERCURY VAPOR TO HIGH PRESSURE SODIUM VAPOR; AND PRO- VIDING THAT ALL RESOLUTIONS OR PARTS OF RESOLU- TIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH BE REPEALED TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH CONFLICT ; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS , it has been estimated that each street light con- verted from mercury vapor (MV) to high pressure sodium vapor (HPSV) will save almost a full barrel of oil per year; and WHEREAS , such conversion will cause the City ' s monthly rate per light to be reduced by from 62 to 202 , depending on the type and size luminaire. NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE ' I CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA: jSection 1. That the City Commission of the City of Dania does hereby approve of the conversion of all street lights within the City that are owned by Florida Power and Light Company from ' mercury vapor (MV) to high pressure sodium vapor (HPSV) within the next five (5) years as a part of said company' s Energy Manage- ment Plan. Section 2 . That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict . Section 3 . That this resolutions shall be in force and .. take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
