A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA RECOMMENDING
THE ADOPTION OF INTERIM DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS
CONTROLLING THE GROWTH OF CERTAIN CRITICAL AREAS
IN BROWARD COUNTY.
WHEREAS, present growth and the anticipated pace of
future development has in some areas of the County outstripped
the capabilities of traffic ways , schools , sewer, water, drain-
age, recreation and other necessary public services and facil-
ilies ; and
WHEREAS, numerous studies critical to the proper
planning and development of the County are being conducted by
the Federal Environmental Protection Agency, the Florida Depart-
ment of Transportation, the South Florida Regional Planning
Council, the Broward County Commission, the Broward County
Planning Council and the Central and Southern Florida Flood
Control District ; and
WHEREAS, the Broward County Planning Council in �.
conformance with the Broward County Charter and the Local
Government Comprehensive Planning Act of 1975 is preparing
for adoption a future land use element to be implemented on
a County-wide basis; and
WHEREAS, the procedural and substantive requirements
of the Broward County Charter and the Local Government Compre-
hensive Planning Act of 1975 require a reasonable period of
time for the preparation of the future land use element care-
ful consideration after public hearings , and notification to
various regional and State agencies prior to its final adop-
tion, its implementation and the certification of local
government unit land use plans ; and
WHEREAS, a substantial increase in the pace of
development during the period necessary for preparation,
adoption and implementation of the future land use element
would limit its effectiveness;

NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission
of the City of Dania:
Section 1. That Broward County adopt interim devel-
opment regulations controlling the growth within areas of
critical planning concern from the substantial detrimental
effects of development which would exceed the carrying capac-
ities of essential government facilities and services .
Section 2 . That all resolutions or parts of resol-
utions , ordinances or parts of ordinances , in conflict here-
with are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict .
Section 3 . This resolution shall take effect immed-
iately upon its passage and adoption.
