jRESOLUTION NO. to
j A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA, ENDORSING
THE 1982-83 UNITED WAY CAMPAIGN IN BROWAP,D COUNTY,
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the United Way, a most efficient philanthropic organization in
America with administrative costs of only 12.5% and continually searching for ways
to reduce costs for participating agencies and maintains a financially accountable
r
quality control system with citizen involvement as a key ingredient; and
WHEREAS, the United Way is a force that unites diverse elements of the communi-
ties and is responsive to local needs and eliminates duplication of multiple appeals
and combines many agencies and programs into an effective service system; and

WHEREAS, the United Way fosters cooperation and coordination with Government,
non-profit agencies , contributors and recipients of the service; and

WHEREAS, the United Way provides wide range of essential health, human and
youth services; and
i WHEREAS, one of every three families in Broward County received service from a
! United Way Agency last year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY I, JOHN M. BERTINO, MAYOR AND THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA,
Section 1. That the City Commission of the City of Dania , Florida, endorses the
1982-83 United Way Campaign and encourages all Dania and Broward v
citizens to participate in the campaign by giving their fair share.
Section 2. That copies of this Resolution be forwarded to the Broward County
jCommission, all member municipalities and the United Way of Broward
County.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and

PASSED and ADOPTED on this 9th day of February, 1983.
