ORDINANCE NO. 501
ORDINANCE FURTHER AMENDING SECTION 17-26,
CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA,
AS PREVIOUSLY AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 414
ADOPTED ON FINAL READING ON MAY 21 1960,
CONCERNING THE ISSUANCE OF INTOXICATING
BEVERAGE LICENSES TO PERSONS WITHIN CERTAIN
LOCATIONS IN PROXIMITY TO SCHOOLS, CHURCHES,
CHURCH BUILDINGS AND PUBLIC RECREATIONAL
FACILITIES; AND PROVIDING THAT ALL ORDINANCES
OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH
BE REPEALED TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH CONFLICT
AND PROVIDING THAT THE ORDINANCE SHALL BE-
COME EFFECTIVE AS OF ITS PASSAGE AND ADOPTION
ON THIRD READING.
+ BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CIPY OF DANIA,
FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That Section 17-26, Code of Ordinances, City

of Dania, Florida, as amended by Ordinance No. 414 passed and adopted

on final reading on May 2, 1960, be and the same is hereby further amended
so that Section 17-26, after the effect of this ordinance, shall read as
follows:
Section 17-26 proximity to schools, churches,
church buildings and public recreational facilities.
{ No license shall be issued under the provisions of
this chapter to any person at any location within
I 12 000 feet from any established school, church,
church building or public recreational facility,
measured by shortest straight line from building
to building, except that in case of a school, to the
nearest point of the school grounds used as part
of the school's facilities. Whenever a license has

been lawfully procured and thereafter a school,
church, church building or public recreational
facility be established within a distance otherwise
prohibited by law, the establishment of such school,
church, church building or public recreational
facility shall not be cause for revocation of the
license or prevent the subsequent renewal of same.
j Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict

herewith be, and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective as of its

passage and adoption on third reading.
