ORDINANCE NO. 475
AN ORDINANCE MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO
ENGAGE IN SURF-RIDING ON THE DANIA
BEACH, EXCEPT IN THE AREA BEGINNING
100 FEET NORTH OF THE MUNICIPALLY
OWNED FISI-IING PIER OWNED BY CITY OF
DANIA, FLORIDA, 'THE DANIA BEACH, DANIA
FLORIDA, AND EXTENDING THEREFROM TO
THE NORTHERN EXTREMITY OF THE DANIA
BEACH, DANIA, FLORIDA, AND PROVIDING
THAT SURF-RIDING ANYWHERE ALONG THE
DANIA BEACH SHALL BE UNLAWFUL IF DONE
IN A CARELESS, NEGLIGENT, WRECKLESS
OR DANGEROUS MANNER; AND PROVIDING
THAT ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDI-
NANCES 1N CONFLICT HEREWITH BE REPEAL-
ED TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH CONFLICT AND
PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL
BECOME EFFECTIVE AS OF ITS PASSAGE AND
ADOPTION ON THIRD READING.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
DANIA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the term "surf-riding" as used in this ordinance
shall be limited to the sport of riding the surf on any buoyant board or other

object.
Section 2. That it shall be unlawful for any person to engage in
surf-riding on The Dania Beach, Dania, Florida, except in the area beg-in-
ning 100 feet north of the municipally owned fishing pier owned by the City

of Dania, at Dania Beach, Dania, Florida, and extending therefrom to the
northern extremity of The Dania Beach, Dania, Florida.
Section 3. That it shall be unlawful to engage in surf-riding in a
careless, negligent, wreckless or dangerous manner anywhere on The Dania

Beach, Dania, Florida, including the area in which surf-riding is permit-
ted, more particularly described in Section 2. of this ordinance.
Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
ij Section 5. This ordinance shall be in force and take effect

immediately upon its passage and adoption.
