AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 28-9, 1971
CODE OF ORDINANCES, REGARDING SPEED OF
BOATS UPON CANALS AND WATERWAYS WITHIN
THE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF DANIA; AND PRO-
VIDING THAT ALL ORDINANCES, OR PARTS OF
ORDINANCES, IN CONFLICT HEREWITH BE
REPEALED TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH CONFLICT;
AND PROVIDING, BY A TWO-THIRDS VOTE OF
THE CITY COMMISSION THAT AN EMERGENCY
I SITUATION EXISTS AND THAT THE ORDINANCE
jBE PASSED ON TWO READINGS ON THE SAME
! DATE, WITHOUT ADVERTISEMENT; AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
j BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA,

FLORIDA:

J Section 1. That Section 28-9 , 1971 Code of Ordinances, City j

of Dania, Florida, be and the same is hereby amended, to read after

the amendment, as follows:
i
Section 28-9 Speed of boats
i
No boat or vessel shall be operated
upon any canals or waterways within the
limits of City of Dania at a rate of
speed greater than idle speed. Idle
speed is defined as the minimum or slow-
est speed that is possible and which will k
7 allow a boat to retain steerage or forward
i movement.
Section 2. That all ordinances, or parts of ordinances , in
conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent i
of such conflict.
Section 3. By two-thirds consent of all commissioners present, �
an emergency situation is declared to exist and this ordinance read

? the first time and read the second time and passed on two readings at
the same meeting, without advertisement.

Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in force and take

effect immediately upon its final passage and adoption.
