AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23-7, CODE OF
ORDINANCES, CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA, BY RE-
PEALING THE EXISTING SECTION 23-7 AND BY EN-
ACTING A NEW SECTION, TO BE KNOWN AS SECTION
23-7, PROVIDING THAT THE TAX ON FRONTONS
SHALL BE PAID IN ADVANCE, DAILY, BUT WITH
THE LICENSEE HAVING THE OPTION OF PAYING THE
ESTIMATED TOTAL TAXES DUE FOR EACH JAI ALAI
SEASON, IN ADVANCE FOR THE ENTIRE SEASON,
WITH THE TOTAL TAXES BEING ESTIMATED AND
BEING BASED UPON THE NUMBER OF DAYS THAT
THE LICENSEE OPERATED A JAI ALAI FRONTON
WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA,
FOR THE PREVIOUS SEASON, AND PROVIDING FOR
! AUTHORITY TO MAKE REFUNDS FOR ANY EXCESSIVE
ESTIMATES OF THE TAXES DUE FOR A SEASON; AND
PROVIDING THAT ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH BE REPEALED
TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH CONFLICT; AND PROVIDING
j THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE
AS OF ITS PASSAGE AND ADOPTION ON THIRD READING

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF DANIA, FLORIDA:
Section 1: That Section 23-7, Code of Ordinances of City of
Dania, Florida, be and the same is hereby repealed.
Section 2: That an ordinance, to be hereafter known as Section
a23-7, Code of Ordinances of City of Dania, Florida, is hereby enacted
1 and shall read as follows:
"Sec. 23-7. Same--When due.
The tax shall be paid to the city daily during the jai
alai season so that for each night that a fronton operates,
the daily tax shall be paid to the city before 5:00 p. m.
However, a licensee shall have the privilege of paying
the estimated total taxes due for a season before the
beginning of a season with the computation of the total
taxes being based upon the number of days the fronton
operated during the previous system. If a licensee
elects to pay the total taxes for a season in advance,
the city shall make whatever adjustment or eefund is
a proper if the fronton operates for a lesser number of
1J days than estimated. "

Section 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. s
Section 4: This ordinance shall be in force and take effect imme-
diately upon its passage and adoption.
