AN ORDINANCE AMENDING A PART OF CITY OF
DANIA ORDINANCE NO. 407, ADOPTED ON THIRD
READING ON FEBRUARY 15, 19602 BY DELETING
IN ITS ENTIRETY THAT PART OF SAID ORDINANCE
NO. 407, AS SAME CONCERNS THE ADOPTION OF
SECTION 9, ARTICLE 1, CITY OF HOLLYWOOD
ORDINANCE NO. 1578, CONCERNING THE CREATION,
DUTIES, APPOINTMENT, AND FUNCTIONS OF THE
CONTRACTOR'S QUALIFYING BOARD OF CITY OF
DANIA, FLORIDA, AND PROVIDING FOR THE CREATION,
DUTIES, APPOINTMENT, AND FUNCTIONS OF THE
CONTRACTOR'S QUALIFYING BOARD OF CITY OF
DANIA, FLORIDA, AND DECLARING THIS TO BE AN
EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AVD DISPENSING WITH
READINGS ON SUCCESSIVE DAYS AND PROVIDING
THAT BY UNANIMOUS CONSENT OF COMMISSIONERS
PRESENT THE ORDINANCE IS DEEMED TO BE INTRO-
DUCED, READ THE FIRST TIME, READ BY TITLE
ONLY THE SECOND AND THIRD TIMES, AND PASSED
ON ALL THREE READINGS IT THE SAME MEETING;
AND PROVIDING THAT ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS
OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH BE REPEALED
TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH CONFLICT: AND PROVIDING
THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE AS
OF ITS PASSAGE AND ADOPTION ON THIRD READING.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA,
FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 407, City of Dania, Florida, adopted
on third reading on February 15, 1960, be and the same is hereby amended

by deleting in its entirety that part of said Ordinance No. 407 which purports
to adopt, with amendments referred to in said Ordinance No. 407, Section 9,

Article 1, City of Hollywood Ordinance No. 1578 which pertains to the creation,
duties, appointment, and functions of the Contractor's Qualifying Board of
City of Dania, Florida.
Section 2. There is hereby created a Contractor's Qualifying Board,
which shall be appointed by the City Commission, consisting of five (5) members.
One member shall be an architect, if available. If an architect is not available,
one member shall be a .professional engineer. Three members shall be qualified
by City of Dania
contractors who have been licensed as general contractors At any time subsequent
to January 1, 1955, but who do not necessarily have to be licensed as of the
date of their appointment, or who are licensed as general contractors by City of

Dania as of the date of their appointment. The remaining member shall be
a person experienced in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial matters.
Section 3. The members of the Contractor's Qualifying Board
shall serve at the pleasure of the City Commission and may be removed at

any time, without cause.
Section 8. That because of pending applications by persons who
desire to become qualified as general contractors in City of Dania and be-
cause of the doubtful legality of the legislation repealed in Section
1 of this ordinance, this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure
by all commissioners present and is being passed on three readings at the
same meeting, and is being read in full the first time and read by title only
the second and third times.

Section 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with be, and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 6. That this ordinance shall become effective as of 94s its
passage and adoption on third reading.
