AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24 OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DANIA
RELATING TO TRAFFIC BY ADDING THERETO A
NEW SECTION TO BE IDENTIFIED AS SECTION
24-67A GRANTING AUTHORIZATION TO THE CHIEF
OF POLICE WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE CITY
MANAGER TO ESTABLISH A TRUCK ROUTE; PROVIDING
CERTAIN EXEMPTIONS THEREFROM AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMMI,SSION OF THE CITY OF
DANIA, FLORIDA:
Section 1: That Chapter 24 of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Dania, Florida, relating to traffic be and the same is hereby
amended by adding thereto a new section to be identified as Section 24-67A,
to read as follows:

(a) The Chief of Police with the approval of the City
Manager is authorized to designate truck routes along
the streets, avenues and highways within the municipal
limits of the City of Dania, Florida, and with the approval
of the City Manager to modify such routes from time to
time.
(b) It shall be the duty of the City Manager to designate
on the city zoning map all streets, avenues and highways
- which have been designated as truck routes by the Chief
of Police.
(c) It shall be the duty of the City Manager to install such
signs as are necessary to identify and designate such
streets, avenues and highways as are designated truck routes.
(d) No person shall operate a truck or trailer along any
street, avenue and highway within the municipal limits
of the City of Dania, Florida, unless said street, avenue or
highway has been designated atruck route as aforesaid.
(e) The provisions of this section shall not apply to trucks
having a net weight of 3, 000 pounds or less, nor to trailers
having a net weight of 4, 000 pounds or less or trailer
coaches used for housing accommodations. Further the
provisions of this section shall not apply to trucks or
trailers using the streets, avenues or highways of the City

of Dania for either the purpose of making deliveries or
of picking up merchandise within the limits of the City. "
Section 2: All ordinances, parts of ordinances, resolutions or
parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed
to the extent of such conflict.
Section 3: If any section of this ordinance or the application
thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, that invalidity shall
not affect other sections or applications of this ordinance.
Section 4: This ordinance shall be in force and take effect
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
