AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 13, CODE OF
ORDINANCES, CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA, BY ADDING A
SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS SECTION 13-22, WITH THE LIEUTENANT
TITLE: CREATION OF POSITION OF FIRE
AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION, AND PROVIDING
THAT ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH BE REPEALED TO THE EXTENT
i OF SUCH CONFLICT; AND PROVIDING THAT THE ORDI-
NANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE AS OF ITS PASSAGE
AND ADOPTION ON THIRD READING.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA,
FLOR DA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That Chapter 13, Code of Ordinances, City of Dania, Florida,
jbe and the same is hereby amended by adding a section to be known as Section

13-22, which shall read as follows:

"Section 13-22,. Creation of Position of Fire Lieutenant and
defined responsibilities of position.
"There is hereby created in the Fire Department of the City of
i Dania, Florida, the position of Fire Lieutenant. The person
designated as Fire Lieutenant shall serve as deputy or first
assistant to the Chief of the Fire Department, and shall assume
all responsibilities of the Chief of the Fire Department during
the absence of the Chief of the Fire Department, or during such
times as the Chief of the Fire Department may be unable to per-
form his duties. The person appointed as Fire Lieutenant shall
have at all times the same rights and powers given to the Chief
j of the Fire Department under ordinances and resolutions of the
City of Dania, Florida. The position of Fire Lieutenant shall be
filled by resolution duly adopted by the City Commission of the
City of Dania, Florida, and in such resolution, the City Commission
shall set and determine the salary of the person appointed as Fire
? Lieutenant.

Section 2. All ordinances of parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
be, and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.

{ Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective as of its passage and
adoption on third reading.
