AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SEC. 31-2 . , 1971
j CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA,
1 AND FURTHER AMENDING SEC . 31-3 . , 1971 CODE
OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA, CON-
CERNING DEPOSITS FOR WATER SERVICE WHERE
SEWER SERVICE IS NOT FURNISHED, AND CON-
CERNING DEPOSITS FOR WATER SERVICE WHERE
SEWER SERVICE IS FURNISHED; AND PROVIDING
1 THAT ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH ARE HEREBY REPEALED
TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH CONFLICT; AND PRO-
VIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME
EFFECTIVE AS OF ITS PASSAGE AND ADOPTION.

j BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
DANIA, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS :
Section 1. That Sec. 31-2 . , 1971 Code of Ordinances

of the City of Dania, Florida, be and the same is hereby

amended in its entirety to read, after the effect of such

amendment, as follows:

"Sec. 31-2 . Deposit where sewer service not
furnished.
(a) With respect to premises within the
city which constitute a single family residence
or a duplex residence and where there is a water
i
meter, or where a water meter will be installed
at the time of application for water service,
and if such premises are not capable of being
i served by the sanitary sewer system of the city,
each new applicant for water service shall pay
a deposit of ten dollars ($10 .00) at the time
that application is made for the furnishing of
water service to the premises and such deposit
shall serve to guarantee the payment of all
water furnished to the premises by the city,
under the terms of this chapter.

(b) With respect to all premises which
jwill constitute the place of business of a
j commercial enterprise within the city (inclu-
ding apartments, triplex dwelling buildings,

hotels and motels) where there is a water
meter (or where a water meter will be in-
stalled at the time of application for water
service) , and if such premises are not capable
I
of being served by the sanitary sewer system
of the city, each new applicant for water
service shall pay a deposit equal to the esti-
mated amount of two months ' water bill at the
time that application is made for the furnish-
ing of water service to the premises and such
deposit shall serve to p guarantee the payment of
all water furnished to the premises by the

city, under the terms of this chapter. "
"Sec. 31-3 . Deposit where sewer service furnished.
A
(a) With respect to residential premises
within the city (that is, a single family
dwelling or a duplex dwelling) where there is
{ a water meter, or where a water meter will be
j installed at the time of application for water
service, and if such premises are capable of
I being served by the sanitary sewer system of the
city, each new applicant for water service and
sanitary sewer service shall pay a deposit of
thirty dollars ($30.00) at the time that appli-
cation is made for the furnishing of water
service and sanitary sewer service to the
premises and such deposit shall serve to
guarantee the payment of all water furnished
to the premises by the city and all sanitary
sewer service extended to the premises by the
city, under the terms of this chapter.
(b) With respect to premises within the
city where any type of commercial business or
-_ enterprise shall be operated (including apart-
ments, triplex dwelling buildings, hotels and
motels) where there is a water meter, or where
a water meter will be installed at the time of
application for water service, and if such
premises are capable of being served by the
sanitary sewer system of the city, each new
I applicant for water service and sanitary sewer
service shall pay a deposit equal to the esti-
mated amount of .two months ' billing for water
I service and sanitary sewer service to the
premises and such deposit shall serve to
guarantee the payment of all water service
extended to the premises by the city, under
the terms of this chapter. "
Section 2 . That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed to the

extent of such conflict.
Section 3 . That this ordinance shall be in force and

take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
