AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 12-1 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA, PERTAIN-
ING TO THE ADOPTION OF ELECTRICAL ORDINANCES OF
THE CITY OF HOLLYWOOD, FLORIDA, TO PROVIDE, AFTER
AMENDMENT, THAT THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA: ADOPTS
ALL OF THE ELECTRICAL CODE OF THE CITY OF HOLLY-
WOOD, FLORIDA, MORE PARTICULARLY IDENTIFIED AS THE
ELECTRICAL CODE OF THE CITY OF HOLLYWOOD, FLORIDA,
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HOLLY-
WOOD, FLORIDA, ON FINAL READING ON NOVEMBER 17, 1949,
AND KNOWN AS ORDINANCE NO. 808 OF THE CITY OF HOLLY-
WOOD, FLORIDA, TOGETHER WITH ALL AMENDMENTS AND
MODIFICATIONS OF SAID ORDINANCE FROM THE TIME OF ITS
ADOPTION UP TO AND INCLUDING MARCH 1, 1958; AND FUR-
THER PROVIDING, HOWEVER, THAT WHEREVER THE WORDS
"CITY OF HOLLYWOOD" APPEAR IN SAID ORDINANCE NO. 808
OF THE CITY OF HOLLYWOOD, FLORIDA: TOGETHER WITH
ALL AMENDMENTS AND MODIFICATIONS OF SAID ORDINANCE
FROM THE TIME OF ITS ADOPTION UP TO AND INCLUDING
MARCH 12 1958, SHALL BE HELD TO MEAN THE "CITY OF
DANIA", FLORIDA; AND FURTHER PROVIDING THAT THAT PART
OF SECTION 6 OF SAID CITY OF HOLLYWOOD ORDINANCE
NO. 808 ADOPTED BY THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA, SHALL
BE AMENDED TO PROVIDE FOR AN ADDITION TO SAID SECTION
6 PROVIDING THAT ALL EXAMINATIONS SHALL BE WRITTEN
EXAMINATIONS; AND FURTHER PROVIDING FOR AN AMEND-
MENT TO SAID SECTION 6 TO PROVIDE THAT EXAMINATIONS
SHALL BE GRADED ON A PERCENTAGE OF 100, AND THAT A
PASSING GRADE SHALL REQUIRE THAT AT LEAST 70% OF THE
QUESTIONS SHALL BE ANSWERED CORRECTLY; AND FURTHER
PROVIDING THAT ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH BE REPEALED TO THE EXTENT OF
,..: SUCH CONFLICT; AND FURTHER PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDI-
NANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE AS OF ITS PASSAGE AND
ADOPTION ON THIRD READING.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That Section 12-1 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Dania,
Florida, be, and the same is hereby amended to read, after amendment, as follows:
"Section 12-1. HoiiVwood electrical ordinances--Adopted.
"There is hereby adopted by the city for the purpose of
establishing the rules and regulations for the safeguarding
of persons and buildings from electrical hazards arising
from the use of electricity, that certain electrical code
known as the electrical ordinance of the City of Hollywood,
Florida, known as Ordinance No. 808 of the City of Holly-
wood, Florida, adopted on final reading on November 17,
1949, together with all amendments and modifications of
said ordinance by the City of Hollywood, Florida, from the
time of its adoption on November 17, 1949, up to and in-
cluding March 1, 1958, of which not less than three copies
have been and now are filed in the office of the city auditor
and clerk of the city, and same is hereby adopted and incor-
porated as fully as if set out at length herein, except those
portions of the Hollywood electrical code which are hereby

deleted, substituted, modified or amended as follows:
"(a) Wherever the words 'City of Hollywood' appear therein,
they shall be held to mean the 'City of Dania, Florida'.
"(b) The second unnumbered paragraph of Section 6 of said
City of Hollywood Ordinance No. 808 is further amended to read
after amendment as follows:
'Examinations will be held during the period from
March 21st until March 31st and from September 21st
until September 30th of each year upon days to be
announced by the board. In addition to these periods,
the City Manager may designate other days for the
examination of journeyman, maintenance electricians,
and appliance electricians. Examinations shall com-
mence on the day designated and continue until all
applicants appearing for the examination have been
examined and shall be based on questions designated
to determine the applicants' practical knowledge of
electrical construction as defined in this Ordinance.
All examinations shall be written examinations. All
examinations shall be graded on a basis of a percen-
tage of 100, and no applicant shall be deemed to have
passed an examination under the provisions of this
section unless he answers at least 70% of the questions
correctly. '
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
be, and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 3. This ordinances shall become effective as of its passage
