Home My WebLink AboutO-1973-024 • i ORDINANCE NO. 24 i AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA TO ANNEX CERTAIN UN- INCORPORATED LANDS CONTIGUOUS THERETO PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF 5171.04, FLORIDA STATUTES; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION OF THIS ORDI- NANCE OF INTENTION TO ANNEX SAID LANDS TO THE j CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA, AND PROVIDING THAT, BY I UNANIMOUS CONSENT OF ALL COMMISSIONERS PRESENT THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE AS j OF ITS PASSAGE AND ADOPTION; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT j HEREWITH. 1 WHEREAS, the owners of certain unincorporated lands contiguous :! to the City of Dania, Florida which property is described herein, have requested that the City of Dania, Florida, annex said lands to the City of Dania, Florida; and WHEREAS, 9171.04, Florida Statutes, provides for the pro- cedure for annexing unincorporated lands contiguous to a munici- pality �t � j pality by the enactment of an ordinance declaring its intention 1 and publication of said ordinance, and the subsequent enact- ment of an ordinance of annexation to accomplish the annexation of such lands; and WHEREAS, the tract of land sought to be annexed contains less than ten (10) registered electors; and f WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Dania, Florida, I ' deems it in the best interest of those concerned to annex said c lands to the City of Dania, Florida NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF i THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the City Commission of the City of Dania, Florida, having received a request by the owners of the lands i i hereinafter described which lands are presently unincorporated � 1 I and contiguous to the City of Dania, Florida and containing less a j that ten (10) registered electors, does hereby declare its in- f tention to annex the following described land, to wit The East three-quarters (E 3/4) of the Southeast one-quarter (SE 4) of the Southeast one-quarter j (SE 4) of the Southeast one-quarter (SE 4) of 1 Section 33, Township 50 South, Range 42 East, said lands situate, lying and being in Broward County, Florida ' 1 at the expiration of thirty (30) days from the approval of I. this ordinance. r 9 j Section 2. ! That notice of the intention of the City of Dania, Florida, to annex said lands be published once a week for four (4) consecutive weeks in accordance with law in a news- paper of general circulation in Broward County, Florida, by pub- lication in full of this ordinance, i j Section 3. That by unanimous consent of all commissioners 3 present, this ordinance has been introduced, read the first time, jand passed on the first reading at the meeting of the City Commiss- ion at the City of Dania, Florida, held on May 21,1973; Read the second time and passed on second reading at the meeting of the { City Commission at the City of Dania, Florida held on June 4, 0 1973, and read the third time and passed on third and final reading at the meeting of the City Commission at the City of Dania, Florida held on June 18, 1973. j { Section 4. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in y i i conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such con- flict. Section 5. That this ordinance shall become effective as Of its passage and adoption.
