ORDINANCE NO. 2

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SEC. 27-39. , 1971
CODE OF ORDINANCES OF CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA,
CONCERNING UTILITY TAXES; AND PROVIDING THAT
ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CON-
FLICT HEREWITH BE REPEALED TO THE EXTENT OF
SUCH CONFLICT; AND PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDI-
NANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE AS OF ITS
PASSAGE AND ADOPTION.

j BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF

DANIA, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS :

1 Section 1. That Sec. 27-39. , 1971 Code Of Ordinances
i
{ of the City of Dania, Florida, regarding the amount of utility
i
taxes, be and the same is hereby amended to read, after the
i
effect of the amendment, as follows:

"Sec. 27-39. Tax imposed; amounts .
i
(a) The tax hereby levied shall be equal
to ten per cent (10/) of the charge upon each
and every purchase of electricity, metered or
bottled gas (natural, liquefied petroleum gas
or manufactured) , water service, local telephone
i and telegraph service and sanitary sewer service
within the City and shall apply only to the first
two hundred and fifty dollars ($250.00) of the
purchase of any one (1) utility during any one
(1) month. The tax hereby imposed shall be levied
on each utility account of any consumer or user
within the city.

(b) Except for the taxes levied on sanitary
sewer service, all utility taxes collected under
the authority of sub-paragraph (a) shall be
deposited or credited to the general operating '
funds of the city. However, all utility taxes
levied against sanitary sewer service accounts,
under the authority of sub-paragraph (a) herein,
shall be deposited or credited to the renewal
and replacement account within the several
accounts of the sanitary sewer funds .

Section 2 . That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed to the

extent of such conflict.
' Section 3 . That this ordinance shall be in force and
take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
