HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-1978-167 ORDINANCE NO. 167 I AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 24 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA, ENTITLED "SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM" PASSED AND ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 63 ON MAY 5 , 1975 , BY AMENDING SECTION 24-5 THEREOF TO PROVIDE A REDUCTION IN j THE RATE TO BE CHARGED FOR COMMERCIAL ACCOUNTS EXCEEDING FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND GALLONS BI- MONTHLY; AND PROVIDING THAT ALL RESOLUTIONS OR PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS AND ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT BE REPEALED TO THE j EXTENT OF SUCH COMFLICT; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE . WHEREAS, Chapter 24 of the Code of Ordinances of the City i of Dania, Florida, entitled "Sanitary Sewer System" was duly passed and adopted by City of Dania, Florida, Ordinance No . 63 +iJ on May 5 , 1975 ; and WHEREAS , following a report of the study of sewer rates and charges for the City of Dania, Florida, made and submitted by Rachlin & Cohen, Certified Public Accountants , certain recommended increases in the rates and charges for sewer services were passed i and adopted by the City Commission of the City of Dania, Florida, by its enactment of Ordinance No . 139 on March 22 , 1977 , which ; I amended Section 24-5 of said Chapter 34 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Dania, Florida; and i i WHEREAS , after a further and thorough study of the new rates 1 and charges as approved by the said adoption of Ordinance No . 139 , the City Commission of the City of Dania, Florida, has determined that a reduction in the rates and charges for commercial accounts exceeding five hundred thousand (500 , 000) gallons bi-monthly is i justified and proper , and that such reduction will have no adverse affect upon the fiscal stability of the sewer system operations or the debt requirements of said system, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE i { CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA: Section 1 . Section 24-5 (b) of the Code of Ordinances of the i } City of Dania, Florida, be and the same is hereby amended to read i 7 � F 1� gg� i w �f1 N I � I as follows : (b) For all other users not set forth in subparagraph (a) above , the charge shall be a basic minimum 'oi-monthly { charge of $5 . 00 for a user connected with the 5/8" water line, $17 . 50 for a 1", $43 . 60 for a 12", $87 . 50 for a 2" , $202 . 50 S for a 3", and $350. 00 for a 4" connection. In addition, there i shall be a charge of $1 . 75 per thousand gallons of water used r I in excess of the first four thousand to five hundred thousand i gallons of water used per bi-monthly. A charge of $0. 875 shall be charged per thousand gallons , or fraction thereof, of water { used in excess of five hundred thousand gallons bi-monthly. `I Section 2 . Except as herein amended all other provisions j of said Section 24-5 shall remain in full force and effect. i f Section 3 . That all resolutions or parts of resolutions jand all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such con- flict . II{ Section 4.
