AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DANIA,
FLORIDA, TO ESTABLISH CHARGES FOR
PARKING AT DANIA BEACH; AND PRO-
VIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF PARKING R
PERMITS FOR RESIDENTS OF THE CITY
OF DANIA, RESIDENTS OF THE CITY OF
DANIA WHO ARE 62 YEARS OF AGE AND
OLDER, AND DISABLED VETERANS ; AND
PROVIDING CHARGES FOR EACH SUCH
CATEGORY; AND PROVIDING FOR THE
I COLLECTION OF FLORIDA SALES TAX ON
ALL PARKING CHARGES; AND PROVIDING
THAT ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF
ORDINANCES AND ALL RESOLUTIONS OR
i PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT
j HEREWITH BE REPEALED TO THE EXTENT
OF SUCH CONFLICT , AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE .

WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Dania,
Florida, passed and adopted Resolution No. 210 on March 29, 1977 ,
i
setting rates for parking at Dania Beach; and
a
WHEREAS , the City Commission, subsequent to the adoption
of said resolution, determined that because of the fact that all
residents of the City of Dania contribute to the cost of improving
and maintaining Dania Beach by way of various taxes imposed by the
1 City and that such contributions should be considered and taken

into account in setting parking rates for citizens of the City ,
i
j and that it would be unjust and inequitable not to do so; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Dania ,
Florida has been informed that the City of Dania is required by N
i
law to collect State of Florida Sales Tax on all parking; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Dania
amended said Resolution No . 210 to remove said inequities and
undue hardships by the adoption of Resolution No. 216 on May 24 ,
1977 ; and
WHEREAS , due to a substantial increase in the costs of
maintaining and improving the Dania Beach area , the City Commission,
i with the assistance of the City Manager and his staff , has deter-
mined that the existing parking charges must be increased in order E

j to provide the necessary funds with which to pay the increased i
i
costs of operating and maintaining the Dania Beach area of the

City; and

WHEREAS , the City Attorney has advised the City Commission
that such rates should be set and approved by the adoption of
an ordinance.
I NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
i
OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA:

Section 1. That the City Commission of the City of
i
Dania , Florida, hereby sets the following parking fees to be

charged the owner or operator of each motor vehicle parking at j
� l
I Dania Beach parking areas between the hours of 8 :00 F..M. and 6 : 00
i
P .M. daily:
(a) There shall be a charge of Fifty
Cents ($ . 50) for each hour or any fraction thereof of
parking time.
i
(b) Any resident of the City of Dania,
j Florida, shall be exempt from the payment of the
charges as set forth in Paragraph (a) hereinabove
by obtaining a Parking Permit (sticker) from the
City and displaying same as directed by the City.
The Parking Permits (stickers) shall be issued
i
- ` annually to correspond with the City' s fiscal year,
and a charge of Five Dollars ($5 . 00) per year , or
any fraction thereof , plus Florida Sales Tax, shall
i
be paid to the City for each such Parking Permit issued.
I
(c) Any resident of the City of Dania
who is sixty-two (62) years of age or older (satis-
factory proof of which must be submitted to the City)
shall be exempt from the payment of the charges as
set forth in Paragraph (a) hereinabove by obtaining
{ a Parking Permit (sticker) from the City and dis-
playing same as directed by the City. Said Parking
Permit (sticker) shall be issued annually to cor--
respond with the City' s fiscal year for a charge of
Five Dollars ($5 . 00) per year, or any fraction there-

of, plus Florida Sales Tax , paid to the City for each

(d) Any veteran of the armed forces
of the United States of America who has been clas-
i sified as disabled by the Veterans Administration
shall be issued a Parking Permit ( sticker) without
charge upon submission of proof of disability that j
j is satisfactory to the City Manager.
ij (e) Any motor vehicle parking on Dania f
Beach for a period in excess of twelve (12) hours
shall pay a charge of Ten Dollars ($10 . 00) for each
such twelve (12) hour period or fraction thereof.
j (f) No duplicate Parking Permits (stickers)
i will be issued for lost or stolen Parking Permits
(stickers) and the transfer of Permits shall not be
permitted.
(g) Any person who violates the pro-

j visions of Subsection (a) hereinabove shall be issued

a Parking Violation Citation and be subject to a fine {
of Ten Dollars ($10 . 00) for each such violation.

Section 2 . It is the intention of the City Commission r
and it is hereby ordained that the provisions of this ordinance
i
...� � shall become and be made a part of the Code of Ordinances of the ;
j City of Dania and the sections of this ordinance may be renumbered
to accomplish such intentions .
Section 3. If any word, phrase, clause , subsection
or section or this ordinance is for any reason held unconstitu-
tional or invalid, the unconstitutionality or invalidity thereof
1 shall not affect the validity of any remaining portions of this
ordinance .
Section 4 . That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
and all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith

CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA REGARDING THE
ADOPTION OF TWO (2) PROPOSED
ORDINANCES
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Commission of the City of Dania, Florida, on
September 14,1982, at 8:15 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, will
conduct a public hearing in the City Commission Room of the Dania City Hall , 100 West
Beach Boulevard, Dania, Florida to consider the proposed adoption on second reading-of
the two ordinances entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA
TO ESTABLISH CHARGES FOR PARKING AT DANIA
BEACH AND PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF
PARKING PERMITS FOR RESIDENTS OF THE CITY, RESIDENTS

DEFINITATIONS OF AN AMUSEMENT CENTER, MECHANI-
CAL AMUSEMENT DEVICE, AUTOMATIC MERCHANDISE
VENDING MACHINE, AUTOMATIC OR COIN-OPERATED
SERVICE TRADE MACHINE AND JUKE BOX AND
PROVIDING THAT ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF
ORDINANCES AND ALL RESOLUTIONS OR PARTS OF
RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH BE REPEALED
TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH CONFLICT; AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
A copy of the proposed ordinances is on file in the office of the City Clerk,
City Hall , 100 West Dania Beach Blvd. , Dania, Florida and may be inspected by the
public during normal working hours.
Interested parties may appear at the aforesaid meeting and be heard with
respect to the proposed.
