RESOLUTION NO. 161 -92
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA, RECOGNIZING
i AND COMMENDING THE FORT LAUDERDALE CHAPTER OF LINKS, E
INC. , FOR ITS OUTSTANDING RECORD OF YOUTH ORIENTED
SERVICES BEING PROVIDED TO THE PEOPLE OF BROWARD COUNTY,
FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, Links, Inc. , is a national organization made up of
business and professional women dedicated to providing community and
public services that will enhance and improve the quality of life of
all peoples; and
WHEREAS, the Fort Lauderdale Chapter of Links, Inc. , is presently Ott
involved in a program that is desperately needed to combat drug and
alcohol abuse by our youth. This project is known and referred to as r
"LEAD" (Links Erase Alcohol and Drug Abuse) the thrust of which is to r.•`
provide information, education and guidance through workshops,
I lectures and other eduational communications and material that will
aid and assist our young people in being able to resoundingly say "NO" "
to alcohol and drugs; and
WHEREAS, the City of Dania, Florida desires to formally recognize F
and applaud this outstanding program and extend the city's thanks and
congratulations to the thirty young women who are being honored at
Links White Rose Dinner being held on November 21 , 1992 at the Airport
Hilton Hotel in Dania.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF DANIA, FLORIDA:
Section 1 . That the City of Dania hereby recognizes and commends
the Fort Lauderdale Chapter of Links, Inc. for its undertaking of this
much needed and eminently necessary project, and conveys its thanks to
Links, Inc. and the 30 young women being honored for their dedicated
service in effectuating the goals and objectives of Link, Inc. ; and
expresses the hopes and prayers of all its citizens that this most
worthy program will result in many young lives being saved from the
dreaded consequences of alcohol and drug abuse.
Passed and Adopted on this 24th day of November 1992.
