HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-1992-020 - r 8+ RESOLUTION NO. 20-92 j A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING AND ENACTING RATES AND CHARGES FOR COLLECTION OF TRASH AND WASTE; PROVIDING THAT ALL RESOLUTIONS OR PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH BE REPEALED TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH CONFLICT; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. i i BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA: I Section 1 . As provided for in Section 13-69( 5) (d) and 13-69 ( 7 ) of Ordinance No. 37-91 as passed and adopted on second and final reading on November 12, 1991 the rates and charges as i hereinafter set forth be and the same are hereby approved: ! 1 . Charges (a) For the monthly charge of $18. 85 per unit, the city shall provide the following sanitation and trash services for each residential and multi-residential structure containing no more than 4 living units. However, structures containing four (4 ) units shall have the option of city provided pickup or contracting with a private sanitation company for containerized service or trash removal . i t (b) Sanitation charges will be charged continuously even though owner or occupants of said premises may have discontinued the use of municipal water services . However, when the owner of property requests that the water meter be removed from said premises, billing will be discontinued until such time as the meter is reinstalled. (c) Bills are delinquent if not paid within thirty ( 30) days after the initial rendition of the bill. If not paid within the thirty ( 30) day period, the balance as arrears will be added to the next month' s bill along with a 10% penalty. If the arrears j plus penalty are not paid within 10 days after the second month's bill is mailed, the water service will be shut off until such time the bill is paid. 2. Solid Waste Pickup The city shall provide unlimited pickup of garbage ( food wastes ) and trash (grass cuttings, tree branches and shrubbery trimmings) which are contained in thirty-two ( 32 ) gallon garbage cans or plastic bags twice a week. !I I Resolution No. 20-92 I L. r e 1 3. Bulk Trash Pickup The city shall provide pickup of bulk trash as defined in j j Ordinance No. 37-91 . The maximum amount of bulk yard trash to be disposed of shall be 6 cubic yards per pickup per residential unit. i A . Bulk Yard Trash Pickup f The city shall provide chipper service once a month for bulk yard trash as defined in Ordinance No. 37-91 . The maximum amount of bulk yard trash to be disposed of shall be 6 cubic yards per pickup per residential unit. The fees described hereinabove are payable regardless of occupancy. 5. Special Trash Pickup Special trash pickups are available for resident owners who do not wish to wait for regular pickup in their area. Charges for special pickups are based on $20.00 per cubic yard of trash, minimum being $10.00. i Section 2 . That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. ' I E._ . f Section 3 .
