HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-1992-027 RESOLUTION NO. 27-92 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING AND SETTING CHARGES FOR THE YEAR 1992 FOR COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL OF SOLID WASTE WITHIN THE RESIDENTIAL AREAS OF THAT PORTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA, KNOWN AND REFERRED TO AS THE GRIFFIN ROAD AREA; PROVIDING FOR METHOD OF PAYMENT; PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES; PROVIDING FOR ADJUSTMENT OF CHARGES; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA: Section 1 . That the monthly charges for solid waste collection and disposal and for curbside recyclable materials and • recovery services for residential units in the Griffin Road area of the City of Dania for the year 1992, are hereby established and imposed as follows: Collection and disposal of solid waste $ 18.76 Curbside recyclable materials collection j and recovery service 2,25 Administrative fee .56 Total : $ 21 .57 f J Sanitation charges will be charged continuously whether said premises is occupied or not. III' Section 2 . That the foregoing charges shall be billed in advance monthly to the owner of the property serviced, beginning January 1, 1992 . Section 3. Bills are delinquent if not paid within thirty i ( 30) days after the initial rendition of the bill. If not paid within the thirty ( 30) day period, the balance will be added as arrears to the next month' s bill along with a 10% penalty. Resolution No. 27-92 ELM Iri f.r 1 i• ell- t Section 4 . That the foregoing charges are subject to change a if during the year 1992, Broward County increases its disposal cost ( tipping fees ) which are currently set at $62. 50 per ton. j Any such increase in disposal charges and administrative charges i connected therewith shall be prorated among the residential units and the monthly unit charges shall be increased by that amount. Section 5. That all receipts from the collection of the charges herein imposed shall be restricted solely to the cost of providing the solid waste collection and disposal services and administrative costs related thereto for the subject area. Section 6. Any account that remains unpaid for more than thirty ( 30) days shall become a lien on the property served and shall be enforced by judicial action in accordance with the laws of Florida. Section 7. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. ' Section 8.
