Tim Tapp, Parks 6 Recreation Director, advised that the City received
three bids on this; project as follows :
Solo Construction $114 , 000
United underground Contractor Corp. $188 , 599
Golden I?agle Engineering Contractors $193, 750
Mr . Tapp recommended Solo Construction be awarded the bid for this
project and advised that the City Engineers have reviewed the bids and
atlree with this dirt-ction .
A motion was made by Commissioner Bertino, seconded by Commissioner
D(tnly to award the bid to Solo Construction for $114 ,000.

3 . 2 Award of bid for neighborhood and park signs.
i'im Tapp advised that Adart is the lowest bidder overall based on the
City ' .-; need for more smaller signs; $810 large, $562.50 small . Other V
bidders were $735.00 large, $630.00 small , $1 , 080 large, $780. 00 small .
Mr . Papp also recommended to award the bid to Adart- since they are
located in Pompano Beach and not to split the bid award by sign size.
\ motion was made by Commissioner Donly, seconded by Vice Mayor Mikes to

conserve water during the next two weeks while repairs are made to the
water plant ' s clear wells. `
7 . 3 City Manager Flatley recommended attendance at the organizational I
meeting of a proposed Coastal League of Cities on Friday, June 12, 1992
( 10 :00 a . m. ) . Mr. Flatley distributed a draft agenda for the meeting
and it was announced that the Mayor and Will Allen, Growth Management ;
Director, will also be attending .
Mayor Hyde advised the need to address the water problems that: are I
imposed on the eastern ci-tios ,:ompared to the western cities .

1 the City of Dania wall presented art award for beach planning projects
that included the beach and cloverleaf plantings .
Glen Morrill and City Staff were commended for their efforts in these
projector that have allowed Dania to be presented with this award.

iTim 'Tapp, Parka & Recreation Director, brought up the subject of tree
parking for patrons for the Pier restaurant . Mr. 'Tapp commented on the
variety of procedures used to grant free parking to these individuals
and the enforcement problems for city personnel . fie suggested to not
issue tickets for certain reserved parking spaces up t.hru 11 :00 a.m. to
he used by restaurant patrons .
Citg Attorney Adler n commended to have a carbnn copy of the restaurant
c1h(,ek t,)r the patron to have in the event he is given a parking ticket
mail it with the ticket to Cit %' Hall .
1 Charlie McKenna , Parking Enforcement , recommended to leave a certain �'-
:;1•ction open for free parking alp to 11 : 00 a .m . for the restaurant
patrons and for the parking officer to use discretion . +„

scheduled for t:he month of August. to allow for vacations. The
Commission felt. that. mect. ings should continue o1r. scheduled.
10 . 3 Mr . Flat ley reported on the demolition of two structures at 19 NW
14 Avenue and 217 NW 7th Avenue and that the Unsafe Structures is
currently looking at four other structures for possible demolition.

Commissioner Grace mentioned her attendance at the baccalaureate
ceremony for Broward County graduates .
Commissioner Grace asked that the drainage problem be looked into at 43
NW 13 Avenue .

Vice Mayor Mike:, stressedthe importance for event coordinators to check
with the City Attorney to ensure all liability concerns are addressed
prior to :scheduling events in the City.
Vice Mayor Mikes requested the landscaping be maintained at the entrance r

Mayor commented on the special constuction of the waterways vessel
Lhat was purchased thru FTND (Florida Inland Navigation Division) grant
