HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-1993-020 4 r frI •tiYb' RESOLUTION NO. 20-93 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA, i ENCOURAGING THE ENACTMENT OF HOUSE BILL 503 WHICH PROVIDES EXEMPTIONS FROM THE TRANSPOR- TATION CONCURRENCY REQUIREMENT IN CERTAIN CASES; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. i j WHEREAS, CHAPTER 163, Florida Statutes and its implementing rules require that adequate transportation facilities be available concurrent with the impacts of development; and i WHEREAS, the unintended results of this requirement are the promotion of urban sprawl and the discouragement of urban infill and redevelopment; and WHEREAS, House Bill 503 provides exemptions from the requirement that adequate transportation facilities be available concurrent with the impacts of development; and WHEREAS, the changes proposed by House Bill 503 will provide I incentives for urban infill and redevelopment and is therefore in the best interests of the Citizens of Dania. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA: Section 1 . That the Florida Legislature is encouraged to enact House Bill 503. I Section 2 . That this resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED and ADOPTED this 23Pd day of February 1993.
