RESOLUTION NO. 95-96
OF THE CITY
� A RESOLUTION�' OF DANIA, FLORIDA, AS
REQUIRED BY THE CITY CHARTER AND SECTION 200.065,
FLORIDA STATUTES, APPROVING THE MILLAGE RATE
NECESSARY TO BE LEVIED FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1996-97
AND REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS OR PARTS OF
RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Charter of the City of Dania, Florida, Section 200.065, Florida
Statutes, require that the city
Commission shall, by Resolution, adopt an annual budget,
determine the amount of millage necessary to be levied and publish the budget so

adopted, together with a notice stating the time and place where objections thereto will be
heard; and

WHEREAS, the annual budget of the City of Dania was tentatively approved and

?t adopted by the City Commission on September 11, 1996, and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that in order to produce

I,Nr sufficient sum to fund such a budget, it is necessary that a millage rate of 5,80 be levied
against ad valorem valuation of property subject to taxation in the City of Dania; and
WHEREAS, the "rolled back rate" as computed in accordance

with the provisions of
} s Section 200.065(1), Florida Statutes, is 6.1960 mills; and
WHEREAS, said proposed millage is 6.3912% less than said "rolled back rate".

Section 1, THAT there be and there is hereby levied upon all taxable property in the
City of Dania, Florida, both real and personal, save except the property designated as
homestead property, in conformity with the Constitution of the State of Florida and statues
declaratory thereof, a tax of$5.80 per $1,000.00 of assessed valuation as the general
sk +, municipal millage for the operating budget for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1996,

and ending September 30, 1997, for the benefit of the General Fund of the City of Dania in
> payment of the budget estimate for the General Fund for said fiscal year.
z r Section 2. THAT said millage rate is 6.3912% less than the "rolled back rate" as
computed in accordance with the provisions of Section 200.065(1), Florida Statutes.
Section 3. THAT the City Clerk-Auditor be and she is hereby directed to transmit
and certify to the Broward County, Florida, Property Appraiser and the Broward County,

Florida, Revenue Collector and Department of Revenue, State Florida, the amount of

taxes herein levied.

Section 4. THAT all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be and , ,l

- the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
